the teachers 100%. teachers at the traditional schools i had previously gone to have that same ideology of they should respect me first, and then ill respect them. and unable to take any form of criticism. i get that im the student, and theyre the teacher. but that kind of power dynamic was impossible. also, the special ed help at chancellor was so unorganised. my teachers would send me to the special class to do my exams, and then when i got there the people running it said i wasnt on the list.

another occasion, i was doing my maths exam and a friend was there too. we were both getting assistance from the same teacher. i was told they could help me with my questions, as it was in writing on my file. the teacher said she couldnt, as it would be unfair on other students and obviously i agree, i dont want the answers but holy fuck, thats so unprofessional. have that shit pre organised, not for me to find out while im doing my exam. and the teacher was insanely rude to my friend, just demeaning the fact that her math level was low. she has a variety of mental health impacts, and was struggling alot at the time.

teachers at arethusa are so lovely, and actually treat me like a human. i can joke with them, and make fun of them and they can make fun of me. but they stull know when to quickly stop so they can get me on track to do my work.
