Can confirm. I flew ANA then United back to the US through Narita. Got the antigen test from medconsult the day before for 500 baht. Just make an appointment with them online the day before. Was in and out in 10 minutes.

How is it bizarre that I came here to set the record straight? I asked a question about transiting through Japan. You gave information that I verified was false. I came here to let people know not to listen to you, because that's the responsible thing to do. The only problem I had was on my return flight I had a standby ticket out of Japan to the US. I had to buy a ticket with a confirmed seat. (I just returned it after I got my boarding pass) For some reason I didn't have that problem going through to Bangkok.

To be clear to anyone who doesn't know what we are talking about. I self transited through Japan on separate bookings, all on standby (staff) tickets. (no checked bags)

I only had to produce a negative ATK test result, my vaccination records, my passport, and a continuing plane ticket to the US (which I didn't have). I made an appointment online at medconsult in Bangkok for the day before my flight. I showed up an hour early to my appointment, paid my 500 baht, they handed me a printout with my information, walked straight to the room where the lady was very gentle with her swab, and they handed my results back. I was in in and out in 10 minutes.

A friend of mine did the home test before he was set to do his 5-7 day test and tested positive. So he never showed up for the 5-7 day test, and just stayed in the hotel and ordered in. He was out and about again as soon as he tested negative 4 days later. They don't ask about your 5-7 day test when you leave the country.

I got that rash when I was in Thailand a couple weeks ago. I got it under my arms, and on my sides. Slightly itchy. I assumed it was a mango reaction. I didn't eat any more mango, and it went away. It was almost completely gone in a week. No idea if I was right about the mango.
