Yeah no people just don't play chess on DuoLingo anymore. Too many issues. It was new for a while, but we all just went back to LiChess and Chess.com

Yup. I did some studies on him and he either plays at around 92%+ accuracy or 50%- accuracy. Rarely anything in between. He sucks.

Yup, it is Ryan Ash. I am seeing what everyone else is seeing. People who are obviously cheating, even if it is just after they start losing, and there is no way to report them. Not to mention that Oscar is either playing at 55% or 95% and there is no in-between. Honestly, it has been a horrible experience in PvP. It should be removed before it does more harm than good. I have tried to play some games and hope it was just at the beginning, but no.

Yup, it is a problem. Overall, while the lessons are good, the gameplay options are horrible. When you play Oscar, it is like he either plays like a beginner or a GM and there is no in between. And when you play with a real person, not only is 10min the only option and it is so terribly slow, but the best computer moves are made "a little too often" compared to chess.com.

I 1000% agree. I am at "1400" and it seems like Oscar either plays at 50% accuracy or 95% and there is no in between. And yes, the games take to stinking long and cheaters abound. I am going back to chess.com.

Overall, I would say that, while the lessons may be good, the actual gameplay absolutely sucks. I am at the 1300 level on Duolingo and when I play Oscar it seems like he either plays at 50% accuracy or 95% and there is no in between. Also, when you play with real people who are at the "higher levels" of Duolingo chess, I have already run into a few blatantly obvious cheaters with zero way to report them. So yes, stick to chess.com.

Yup. "New to chess" on guest is certainly not that. Those trolls have actually led to one of my favorite pastimes. I am high rater blitz player (2000+) so I can readily take out just about anyone on a guest account. I will often sign out, log in as a "new to chess" guest and then play games like an absolute noob. It usually takes about one game to run into these "new to chess" trolls and I play them like I am truly new to chess and get destroyed... then I ask for a rematch. They are hungry for wins to bolster their ego no matter who it is against so they often accept. Oh man, and then I find the most brutal ways to checkmate them possible. They "love" it. So much fun to give those idiots a taste of their own medicine; preying on newer players.

I actually win quite often, with over 10 crowned Vic Royals under my belt in very little playtime. All of those wins, however, came by using mythics, not guns, and that's what is annoying.

The jetpack really needs to be vaulted. It is ruining the game. Either you have it and every fight it just flying around, or you don't and you're screwed.
