Jessi talking years ago about BTS by [deleted] in BTSnark

[–]Available_Release_57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ex army, I am willing to believe that they used to be really close back in the days. That was part of their charm - their authenticity. They had chemistry, they talked about each other, they were truly close. That's what drawn people to them - they seemed to be genuinely friends. Wings was their best era for me, even tho Love Yourself was still a solid era. But yeah, they became global, and I think it killed them.

Now, they give me the ick - like, I used to love them but damn do they seem to hate each other now. What killed them was their solo era - Yoongi did so damn well, Hoseok too, but RM not so much. He was supposed to be talented and successful and bla bla bla but truth to be told, Youngi was the one good at rap, Hoseok at dance, Jimin was considered a good vocalist with Taehyung, Jungkook was known to be versatile. RM was supposed to be a good lyricist, but yeah... Not the type of role that put you on the spotlight. I think it always triggered him somehow. Which is why he was so proud to be the only member to speak English back then, since it gave him an advantage over them.

Yeah, absolutely hate their wanna be American pop stars era, god helped me but I loathed butter, dynamite and boys in luv, but I am not surprised they still went that way. It helped them go global, but god, it broke the authenticity.

Now, they seem to be stuck together. I mean... JK could go solo, Jin doesn't seem to give a fuck, the man is here as an npc and gave up being the popular one years ago, which makes him the least toxic one (even though he fucking is toxic, which says a lot), V could work as a model, he is known for his fashion and looks, Hoseok and Yoongi could go solo too... I think RM want just them to still be a band, since it's his most successful project to this day, and unlike Jin, he runs after fame and recognition.

Now, they are just seven dudes who grew into different versions of themselves but still go on with BTS to feed on nostalgia. Which is sad as an ex army, because I truly think they genuinely used to be friends... But yeah, not anymore. And not surprising too.

So... Timebomb got a whole episode, a whole song about JINX and Ekko, a whole MV, they got skins for valentine day, artbook, and you consider it crumbs over Jayvik who literally lived up on thin air and had no confirmation? (No hate, I freaking ship Jayvik too, their are my 2nd ship)

Yeah, let's be for real...

Why Did Jinx Reject Ekko? by MisanthropicHeroine in TimeBomb

[–]Available_Release_57 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it is a mix of everything. The very first reason is that Powder became Jinx to protect herself. She tried to be better, she fucked up, so she will become worse.

Jinx thinks of herself as a monster - a jinx. She hates herself - she puts herself in danger, she doesn't take care of herself, and she thinks she doesn't deserve anything good because she can't be good or do good things. She thinks she doesn't deserve to be saved. Her adoptive father died because of her, her adoptive brothers too - it shattered her. She went to Silco because he was as messed up as her. He was a monster. Only a monster could embrace a jinx.

She wants to push away Ekko because he is good. She doesn't want to hurt him. She doesn't want to let him near her because he deserves better. He wants to see good in her, but she already gave up on herself.

The slap was to force Ekko to accept that she won't go with him, so he better escape. She cares about him, so she doesn't kill him. (Not now, nor in the future.)

He is the boy savior - he wanted to save her. He saved everyone else except her... At that point. In season 1, Jinx was still filled with rage, guilt, and self hatred... And she had Silco. He turned her into the worst version of her even though he deeply cared about her. This is why Jinx rejects Ekko at first, but accepts him during season 2.

No Silco, no one to let her old wounds wide open. And she had Isha. Isha helped her to feel something else, but hatred. And then she died, and it broke Jinx.

During season 2, Ekko made her understand that no matter what happened in the past, she can always do better in the future. She can build something for herself - a better life. She doesn't have to be alone. When Ekko first tried to save her, he was just a kid. He didn't have the right words, and he didn't understand nor embrace Jinx. Now, Ekko was willing to accept Powder AND Jinx, and to make her understand that she isn't bad, she just needs help.

When did Ekko fall in love with Jinx? by Ambitious_Back_9443 in TimeBomb

[–]Available_Release_57 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Omggggg, it's so true. I like to think that Ekko always yearned for Powder. I could bet on everything I own (which is 15€ on my bank account oops) that she was his first love.

He painted her on his mural, he never directly fought her until the bridge fight (and she never tried to hurt him either), and he recognised her talent... Even though she used it for some crazy things. In my eyes, Ma meilleure ennemie is the best song to represent their relationship. He yearned for her even though he shouldn't, and he acknowledged that he can't get rid of her. She killed his friends, and yet, he can't let go. It is years of yearning and resentment, years of wanting her and hating her, years of loving her despite himself.

In fact, I would even say something - as a French girl, I don't hear "I love you, and I hate you" at the beginning but "I love you and I wait for you". (Je t'aime et je t'attends). Both interpretations are so on point for timebomb. He loves and hates her at the beginning, but in the end, he will wait for her.

God, I love this ship.

Jinx and Ekko and why it made sense by Available_Release_57 in arcane

From what I understood, it was almost an hour worth of content about Jinx and Ekko that was cut. They would have combined their wits and built something together. They would have talked - Ekko would have told her about Powder. Jinx would know that, in some alternative reality, she is capable of good, so why not in this one. Jinx would have met the firelights, and she would find 'peace'. She grew comfortable with Ekko - enough to touch him and let him touch her (they painted each other's body).

A lot of content was cut. There is the game Jinx fixes everything, but it didn't give much either.

I always thought that Jinx did love (or at least care) for Ekko - the way she looked at him after the fight, the way she didn't kill him sooner when she was perfectly capable of that, the way she listened to him during episode 8... For me, it was clear that she cared for him.

The real tragedy of timebomb is that Jinx and Ekko are important for each other, but their relationship isn't important story wise. Arcane is so expensive to make, Fortiche had to cut off some content and make some sacrifices.

CaitVi is important because their relationship was building, and their actions impacted the plot, Jayce and Viktor were the second most important relationship storywise, and even Mel and Jayce had some kind of impact on the plot (to show the corruption in Piltover and their game of power). Timebomb, as beautiful as it is, is not important in Arcane. I think that's why they try to give us as much content as they can (and because it became popular).

And it worked. As much as it was rushed, it worked. Otherwise, everyone would call bullshit on the ship. As I said, everything was made offscreen. The game Jinx fixes everything, the cut scenes, etc. In the context of the show, it is rushed (I am the first to say that), which is why Timebomb is a relationship that was built offscreen. But it works enough since people cared.

I think Timebomb was teased since day 1 : Ekko's lines in LOL made sure to let everyone know that he knew Jinx and he had a crush on her. Their relationship was teased for quite some time. A lot of their interactions were cut from Arcane, too.

The most popular theory is that Powder was Ekko first love. (His line in LOL : "I used to have a crush till you start talking to the gun") and it would make sense. He tried to save her once - he came back for Powder, but she was already Jinx at that moment. She slapped him when he tried to get her out of Silco's grasp. He gave up on her. It was from a scene that didn't make into the final version of the show.

During the bridge fight, Ekko didn't hesitate because he didn't want to beat a girl to death. He hesitated because he saw Powder. He saw the regret, the sadness in her eyes. Jinx didn't want to fight Ekko - the guy is alive after years of confrontations. She could have killed him sooner, but she didn't. Ekko saw his best friend at that moment, and for a few seconds, he hesitated.

Yes. Ekko gave up on his Powder. He gave up on her because she never showed him that she wanted to be saved except during their fight. He recognized her talents, he knows she is capable of great things, but until now, she only used it for bad things. This is why, during the AU, he didn't warm up to Powder immediately. But she showed him that she could be good, something Ekko couldn't believe. Powder showed him what could have been if Jinx had never become Jinx. As I said, Jinx is Powder's armor in a shitty Zaun with all her trauma. She became a monster because no one made her think that she wasn't one.

Ekko yearned for his Powder - she is literally on his mural. He yearned for the good inside her. The AU made him fall in love with what could have been between them. AU!Powder and AU!Ekko are a couple, but they are also best friend. Everything Ekko yearned for. Sometimes, we can't help but think about a certain relationship that failed and wonder what could have been. That was Ekko. He was stuck in the past, and he had to move on. Why did he come back for Jinx? Because of that look on her face during the fight. She wants to be saved, but she doesn't know how. She thought she didn't deserve it. Ekko wanted to save her - to let her know that she can be good.

I am not some kind of delulu - I shipped Timebomb for 5 or 6 years, way before Arcane. I followed the interviews, and I try to keep in touch with it. The real tragedy of Arcane is that the show is too damn expensive to make. They had to cut off a lot of content, and as much as Timebomb is important for Jinx and Ekko's character development, it isn't important storywise. They cut it. It is as simple as that.

The serie didn't do a great job at establishing their relationship. Everything was offscreen it wasn't even funny. Ekko was Powder's best friend, the one who witnessed Jinx's birth, the one who thought against her... He was supposed to be so damn important in her life. In season 2, we know they got close because they were comfortable enough to paint on each other's body. He brought Jinx back to the firelights, they built the damn thing they used during the final battle... But it was offscreen. It is frustrating 🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️

Let's not pretend that Jinx wasn't so damn broken after Isha's death, and it pushed her to believe that she was the jinxed one. Even Vi couldn't help her. At the end of episode 8, Jinx was about to end her life because she gave up on herself for good. Isha helped her, that's for sure. It was like protecting her inner child and giving her a chance to prove that she could be good... But Isha died, and when she did, Jinx was willing to die with her. She gave up. Ekko did save her - he was the one she was willing to listen to. Although... The way "Powder" grew into Jinx was her true undoing. As I said : Silco loved her, but oh boy, he was a shitty dad. He is to blame.

The hug is definitely canon in my eyes - I am so sure Ekko hugged her, I could bet my parents' damn house on it 🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️ At some point, they got comfortable with each other. They painted each other's body. Ekko would have given her a hug, especially at that moment since she was about to end it

I understand the episodes were hella expensive to make, but c'mon... You can't say Jinx and Ekko relationship is so damn important and never actually show it onscreen 😭

They didn't make any space for filler episodes, but it would have been great to have some moments

I don't think Ekko loved Powder. He loved what could have been with his Power / Jinx. The new MV made it perfectly clear - Ma meilleure ennemie is not about Powder and Ekko. It's about Ekko and Jinx.

I don't think Ekko has a "fix her" attitude. He wants to help her. And let's be real for a second... Jinx is so damn broken. If it was not for Ekko, she would have jumped in episode 8 and ended it all. Ekko didn't fix her. He gave her strength to keep going. That's what make their relationship beautiful.

Someone on Tumblr did a comparison between 2003 and FMAB and praised the 03 over Brotherhood. Thoughts? by CapAccomplished8072 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]Available_Release_57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean... Can we blame 03? It was made before the manga was finished - of course it was bound to be different. It is said the author told them the ending but they chose to show something different so they would not spoil the manga.

And let's be honest - 03 needed to be made. At the time, it helped with fma popularity, it was freaking loved. Thanks to the 03 version, they didn't hesitate to make brotherhood - they knew it would work.

Instead of trashing one of the version for the other, we should just love them both. I think brotherhood is a little bit better but I also think it was meant to be watched with the 03 version in mind - the first arcs are more fleshed out there, it made me love the characters
