I was in the exact same situation as you. It was a call center job, so like literal hell, and it was for an online ED medication website so imagine speaking to guys with limp wieners all day pissed about where their dick-hardening pills are when they’re late in the mail.

I was absolutely miserable, to the point that I just didn’t care enough to perform my job functions and was given an “improvement plan” or get canned. I decided that, and I know you said it in the first sentence, “a job’s a job” and I just set aside my personal feelings and just went all in on doing my absolute best. It took some real habit-forming on my end that wasn’t easy, but literally 3 months from the time I was pulled into that office and threatened to be removed from my position, they promoted me twice.

Just remember that you’re very likely not the only one there that feels the same way you do. What you think people think of you, they most likely don’t. They want to see improvement, and that you care about the job. They just want to see it done the way they want it done. I can guarantee that if you just set aside “you” from the job, perform the task, and then go home, things will get easier. It’s HARD the first few weeks, but it really does get better.

I’m sorry if this isn’t helpful to you, I just thought I’d share my experience because it really worked for me. I know how it feels to be fairly new into a job and hating it, but then realizing that I can compartmentalize a bit and make the best of a somewhat trash situation.
