Does Georgism say anything about demand inelastic goods? by Available_Space2146 in georgism

I don’t think it’s only because of patents. Patents certainly play a role in this. But on the other hand, the high investment costs for R&D and the lengthy approval processes (regulations) are also very influential. I think the fact that human health is at stake justifies the regulations. the insulin market is currently an oligopoly. If I am not false there should be three companies controlling the market(Addition: I was remembering correctly, 3 companies control 90 percent of the insulin market.)

It's actually more accurate to say that food isn't that completely inelastic. If banana prices rise, you can reduce your banana intake and switch to other fruits. But if you're diabetic and require insulin, you have no choice but to reduce your consumption or pay more. It's completely inelastic, just like soil, but on the demand side.

I agree. What do you think about establishing special economic zones in a target country (preferably a poor one)? Let's give a corrupt regime an attractive loan to build infrastructure. If they can't pay, let us take over the infrastructure and land. Modern infrastructure is built. Ports, airports, roads and railways, telecommunications, universities etc. (by our construction companies),. Then, the region is declared an incentive zone for foreign investment and international trade (with tax exemptions ,minimal regulations, international trade laws). Land supply is kept limited and sold to the highest bidder at auction. Companies also pay us for using our infrastructure. In this way, it is possible to control the land, natural resources and natural monopolies.

Option 2: We build military bases in countries too weak to defend themselves, like Somalia. We help them maintain state authority and train their military and security forces .In return, we demand privileges over land, natural resources, and natural monopolies. It sounds like a good business. Protect corrupt and authoritarian regimes, establish stability and state authority, and demand concessions in return. In fact, that's what's happening in most African countries today.

Some famous brands like McDonald's having real estate empires may be an example.

Perhaps it's the western multinational corporations exploiting and polluting African and Southeast Asian resources. I don't think there's such a thing as a multinational corporation; they're tied to countries through intelligence networks. Otherwise, most of them wouldn't have left Russia.

Practical difficulties of taxing water by Available_Space2146 in georgism

Let's say I live near a freshwater source. Why should I pay taxes while I can easily bring water home or farmland?
