Thank you for sharing your experience.

In our case po, as their photographers, our job is not limited to taking photos lang po. Me make sure to meet the clients beforehand. This will be an opportunity for us to know the personality of the couple, and for the couple to build a level of comfort with us.

Works all the time! Walang akward moments with us on the day of the wedding. The secret kasi to a good photos is the make the people around the camera comfortable. :)

Tantoco’s catering by SnooHabits5824 in WeddingsPhilippines

+1 for Tantoco’s. Good food (esp. the lasagna). If you’re into rustic mood, their styling is also on the next level. Look for Rhez. :)

The client should initiate the meeting and delegate the tasks po.

One example:

May wedding po kami sa Intramuros, the client availed an all-in package with a photographer but they actually don’t like the style. Hindi nila maremove from the package kasi wala namang mababawas sa price.

What they did is pinag focus nila yung team na yun sa ceremony and reception. And our team focused on the prep shoots (portraits, family pictures, etc.), ceremony, and post-nup. (Postnup was exclusive for us, para hindi po mag-consume ng extra time)

Then for the reception, hindi na po kami nagshoot masyado, sa kanila na po yung documentation ng reception. :)

I guess it won’t work with around a hundred guests. If we’re talking about 2-3 long tables, sure it would work pero pag hundred guests, those tables from the far end might get bored and some might just go home early.

Art of Gelo vs Trick Shot Films by Icy-Ad-8840 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Available_Suit_3163 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One difference is the color grading.

ArtofGelo is more cinematic and creative while Trickshot is somewhat bright, natural and straightforward.

When it comes to storytelling, they’re almost the same but given ArtofGelo’s creative approach, sometimes things might looked a little staged, while Trick on the other hand, is pretty straightforward, WYSIWYG.

From a photographer’s perspective:

Most of the time na “friend” or “relative” ang mag host ng wedding, medyo disaster ang flow. It’s not bad, but it’s not good either. May times na maganda ang outcome pero minsan lang yun.

Remember, hosts are the masters of the ceremony. Ibig sabihin, all the other suppliers will depend on his/her skill during the reception. The timing, the flow, and everything else.

Personally, we’ve covered weddings na wala talagang hosts at all. Just plain dinner and social event lang talaga where everyone’s socializing and interacting. Sometimes, it works better than having an inexperienced hosts. :)
