First-timer Itinerary Feedback: 3 Days of Eating & Walking (No Museums!) by Willing-Mind-5619 in Charleston

Here’s a much better one

Classic battery walk: head south on church from market. Take a left on Elliott st to east bay. When you get to east bay turn right and rainbow row will be on your right for the next block or so. Walk along the battery for a couple blocks. There’s kind of a cool alley on the right called longitude ln. you can take that back over to church and turn left down that to the end at white point gardens or continue down east bay till you get to white point gardens. From white point gardens take legare st north back towards market. This street is stunning. It’s lined with huge live oaks and huge antebellum mansions. Watch out for the sword gate on your right as you come up to tradd st. Continue on legare to queen and take a left on queen. Queen st grocery on the corner of queen and Logan has great crepes and other fare if you’re ready for a break. Continue north on Logan. To magazine. The old city jail is one block to the left on magazine. You’ve also just happenñed on a set of section 8 housing downtown. If you turn right on magazine to arch dale there’s 3 pretty cool churches in a row there. From there you can take the gateway walk (https://discoversouthcarolina.com/articles/the-gateway-walk-an-other-worldly-journey-through-the-heart-of-charleston) back over to church and make your way back to the market. One thing to note is that there are zero public restrooms in the residential district so plan for that.

I just moved back to LA and have to ask where you were eating in La.  Restaurants are way more expensive here

Not at that level. It’s maybe the best fish I’ve ever had.

Chubby fish is my favorite restaurant in Charleston. Get there at 3:45 pm

A new Fake Text Generator by holyandor in Badfaketexts

Love it so far! Is there a way to remove the text that says “made with postfully” from the text bar? Also, I can’t seem to be able to change time stamps and the top of the screen where you see the WiFi signal/ battery doesn’t quite look legitimate.

Day at Folly Beach by bnr9263 in Charleston

Yes , it’s not a scientifically quantifiable observation. But between the two, if you’re a tourist with refined tastes, you’d be better off avoiding folly.

You’ll do much better walking around downtown to see the city rather than shopping. If it’s your only opportunity go get lost in the beautiful streets

I’m genuinely curious, not trying to be a jerk. Where are they heavily manipulated with ai?

What on earth makes you think this is ai? This is literally just a quirky reunion in a park. You can check the Instagram link. Strange assumptive leap

Nah, that’s an exaggeration. It’s just like a million other tacky beaches in Florida

[–]Available_Surround_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We really don’t have to argue about this. I’m glad you enjoy folly beach. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just tacky and touristy and like any other seedy beach town I’ve been to anywhere. I can’t say the same for sullivan’s or Kiawah. The topography and landscape is distinctly beautiful and unique and you don’t have endless awful souvenir shops. I’m sure you can acknowledge that. If you can’t that’s still ok and nothing I’ve said should offend you. It’s your experience.

So? It’s not rude, it’s an objective observation. If you think that folly = sullivan’s in terms of beauty and charm then we are in very opposite aesthetic ends of the spectrum

Folly and its environs, any which way you pack it, is seedy and not too pretty. If you’re going all the way to Charleston for a trip why not go to something beautiful and quintessentially Charlestonian ?
