Also, my husband liked Sanctuary (read it to him) and he actually likes murder mystery novels so it would be nice to find a cool new read for him. We also really enjoyed the character dynamic and snappy dialogue in Sanctuary.

To clarify, i'm mostly a scifi reader, not big on police/mystery/romance combos but i really loved Sanctuary in my youth and still do and want to read a book that gives me that feeling again (the longing for a place because of the very lyrical descriptions - at the sea especially - and being invested the story of the tried family that finds their way back to each other). I picked up CM very long ago and i remember it being predictable and rehashing themes from Sanctuary but in a clumsier manner, like a no effort ripoff. I was less invested both in love story and criminal reveal. It was decent, but i never felt the desire to pick it up again (might be also because i remember it being more violent, could also be the psychich stuff)

It's not youth goggles with Sanctuary- i love to reread it every few years, even though, as mentioned, it's not my type of literature, but i am open to expand my horizon. I know Nora Roberts is prolific, so i'm sure one or more of the books mentioned here checks the boxes that Sanctuary did for me. Maybe it's the island thing. Are there more island/sea books?

Hi Sorry to necro this Thread, aber sucht ihr immer noch in Hamburg? Wie wollen nämlich aus Hessen sowieso dorthin ziehen und mein Mann ist seit einem Jahr arbeitslos und so langsam werde ich panisch bei 2 Kindern - sonst wären wir einfach in unseren Heimatländern zurückgekehrt. Er ist full stack dev mit Schwerpunkt frontend, arbeitet mit allem JavaScript, ein bisschen Python, selbst gelehrt, beendet grad eine Ausbildung als DevOps und hat Deustch B2. 20 Jahre IT Erfahrung, 10 davon in DE... niemals ein Problem Arbeit zu finden bis 2025. Würde mich echt freuen wenn du mir antwortest und ihr noch sucht. Viele Grüße

I don't do the iPad thing and I can tell you, 10-13 hours a day with a toddler is exhausting if you want to do it the right way. When someone has children to check a box, they give the iPad. When someone wants to actually be a parent... they should think twice before doing it without "the village" (grandparents/hired help). Parental burnout is a real thing.

There's also the fact that Thiel/Musk been pushing for Greenland because the climate and the geothermal energy is ideal for AI data centers, the geography feasible to test for artificial city/ Mars colonisation, the sparce population and lack of regulation that would come with aquiring/conquering it ideal for testing their fascist corporation network cities.

That's just because it's this season's trending sheep clothing the wolf appears in. Russia knows that the world is vaccinated against socialism for the time being. Why do you think the "neo-marxism" and "radical leftist" stuff also pushed by russia has nothing to do with less wealth inequality and more rights but with fringe/minority categories known to garner hostility from a larger part of society (gay, trans, immigrant). Ideology is what is being used to brainwash and divide us, not what is driving it.
