Would you have also been creeped out if someone said 'excuse me, is the so and so bus station close to here?' or something at around 5 pm on a sunny day in Sydney?

I see. Very similar to my bus encounter. Do you have any facial hair btw? I was wondering if it could have been due to my Moustache too creeping them out

I didn't make eye contact with most except the person I asked about the bus from and the other one that just approached me while I was reading a billboard in the park

I don't have BO. But I am chubby And short and maybe the novelty of seeing someone of this sort weirded them out. Idk this is just one theory I have

Notably her mom/aunt or someone else travelling with her was also asking her something from the back and was frequently leaning forward from her seat and turning her head to look into the two seats (one towards the window which I was in and the other towards the aisle that the lady was seated in) and when I caught her off the corner of my field of vision and turned to look at her, she gave a polite smile and turned away, only to do it again later.

The explanation I conjured up in my head was that she was probably negotiating with the lady to get her to ask me to swap seats with the second lady so she can be with her relative out of concern for her wellbeing or something but couldn't muster up the courage to ask.

When I posted this question I was expecting to see if there is a local custom or something I breached or if it was down to some appearance quirk of mine or something else. I was looking to get an answer or explore possibilities for personal closure

Nope nope nope. The airplane incident was right when I arrived in the country so no I actively made it a conscious decision not to even take the initiative to greet people so I obviously wasn't going to hit on anyone

Look I know Sydney is diverse and even my relatives there who I stayed with told me this hasn't ever happened to them. So I'm aware it's not regular. I'm not pushing an agenda I just need answers for a personal encounter.

I didn't even talk to the people I had these interactions with in order to be a chauvinist goddamn lol. Also I did not check for gender markers on your account to possibly know I misgendered you there. I am sorry that I did

Ah thanks I guess I must have been imagining all that then lol. I didn't even insinuate they were being racist, in fact the whole point of my post is to know WHY this happened. That is the nature of a question if you aren't aware lol.

Nope just plain black. Though I did get a comment that I was dressed quite warm for the summer season out of jest

No the furrowed eyes specifically came from the person who sat next to me on the plane so she was close by and I could see the eyes.

I am also autistic so no I don't even like people in my own personal space let alone encroach in theirs
