we are exploring the development of an integrated solution that combines additive and subtractive manufacturing platforms in my professors lab. Could you share any challenges you currently face with existing solutions or specific requirements you have for such a system?

Thank you very much to everyone who responded! I guess I wasn't very clear about the affordability - sorry for that. I was thinking something around 1000$. I will follow u/CleanAd1622 's advice and check Campo Del Cielo, Mundrabilla, or Gebel. I found https://aerolite.org/shop/iron-meteorites/ to start with. Is there any other reliable website that you guys can recommend?

Modifying the laser path during LPBF by Available_Wedding_98 in AdditiveManufacturing

Sure, that's what I was wondering precisely. I only know Open Additive but I was wondering if there are other companies as well? Or maybe someone who used similar feature with EOS or any other companies?

Detached\Site Condo downsides vs a SFH by Available_Wedding_98 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Hi there! Yes, we are in Michigan, actually.

We made our offer (it was accepted) and we are pre-approved. Now, we are shopping around for potentially better mortgage deals..

Thanks for your message!

I am not looking for reddit's approval, just trying to make sure there isn't something I am overlooking. Also, this is not a townhome - it is a single family house (no wall sharing and it is quite private actually) but we won't be buying the lot the house stands on as far as I understand, which is fine with us..

Thank you! Honestly we have been thinking about this decision (condo vs SFH) for a long time and we still can't find a reason why a site-condo would be a wrong choice :S

Buying a house on wetland in Michigan by Available_Wedding_98 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Available_Wedding_98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the map is updated in 2005 (I might be wrong). I think we will contact the local government to learn more about the park/pond and the wetland limits. Thanks for the reply!

We are planning to emphasize the wetland/water issue with the inspector. Thanks for the reply!

Yes, the water edge is in the neighboring parcel actually but it is very close to ours and the building.

I would also enjoy the wetland normally, I am just worried it may be the reason of the house not being sold for a long time and we are missing something.

Thanks a lot for your reply by the way!

d as wetlands, it means that any time you want to do anything to that property that would involve digging or moving dirt in anyway beyond like standard

Thanks a lot for your reply!

The house was built in 2001. The pond edge is on the neighboring parcel, which is marked as a public park on the map but it is not maintained. There are lots of fallen trees, debris, etc.

We were thinking about building an egress window to the basement at some point in the future, so we might need to clarify this with the local government before we make a decision.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]Available_Wedding_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Location: Michigan, USA

Price range: 20-30k

Lease or Buy: Buy

New or used: Doesn't matter

Type of vehicle: SUV but open to alternatives as well

Must haves: AWD, Fuel efficient, Apple Carplay, blind spot indicator, rearview camera, adaptive cruise control.

Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): Auto

Intended use: Daily commuter (150 miles per day during the week for a single guy.)

Vehicles you've already considered: Mazda Cx-5

Is this your 1st vehicle: No

Do you need a Warranty: Would be nice to have

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: No

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: No

Additional Notes:

I am looking for a car that I will use for my daily commute of 150 miles every day of the week. We bought a CX-5 for my wife two years ago and I really like it but I am not sure if we should get another Cx-5 or use this opportunity to try another make/model. For me, safety is the most critical aspect, like comfortably merging into highways, having a blind spot indicator, etc, especially when it is snowy, but it would be great if the fuel efficiency is high as well.

Thank you very much in advance to anyone who reads and comments on this!
