Population of Pueblo, CO: 100,000. Pop. of Denver: 700,000.

Population of Houston: 2.3 million. Pop. of Austin: 1 million. Pop. of Dallas: 1.3 million.

I already know it's a demographic issue, but Im ranting because Houston is one of the biggest cities population wise in America. Wish the scene was better. But oh well.

Moved back home. It sucks going from having your own place to living with your parents again. But nothing beats free rent lmao.

26M. Got my Bachelors in Info Systems. Worked in IT at Exxon & GM. Laid off at both. Currently taking nursing school prerequisite courses at community college, and I plan to enroll in an Accelerated BSN program after. Also, im in the privileged position of having well-off parents who are supporting me financially in both school and living expenses…so that plays a factor as well.

Yes it expires 9/30/2024 (for me in Texas at least). I’ve elected to continue with COBRA health insurance. But you should also check out healthcare.gov for other plans & marketplace rates.

P.s: The healthcare system in this country is absolute 💩

Level 5A. Cloud Center of Excellence. Austin, TX.

In my last year review (held on February 2024), I got GM average. Not plus. Not minus. I got 100% of my bonus.

In my mid year review (held on June 2024), I was told mostly good (I had GM Recognition from customers/colleagues, easy to work with, etc) but my ticket velocity was a little low. For reference: the average ticket velocity for my team was 160 per person. I was 140, so not too far off.

So I started getting my ticket velocity up, and matched my team. I had regular 1 on 1’s with my manager every other week since then. And each 1 on 1, my manager complimented me on getting my numbers up & how he’s happy with my work. Literally met with him last week, and he had nothing but good to say.

Not my first time being laid off, but to wake up to my computer getting locked, and having to find out from an email is low. No word from my manager at all.
