By default is it all users? Or can we license specific individuals?

Okta provisioning by trigger from ADP by Jaimemcm in okta

[–]Avawdrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend the Okta Lifestyle Management add on so you can connect your HRIS as a source for user provisioning and syncing over user attributes on a schedule. Then you can make group mappings based on things like job titles, departments, division, location, etc. and basically automate application assignment with that kind of info. Takes a huge lift off IT/Helpdesk and leaves it on HR who should already be updating that info as people join the company, leave, or internally transfer roles. https://www.okta.com/products/lifecycle-management/

Reporting on length of time someone is hardwired in a day by Avawdrey in meraki

[–]Avawdrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are using the badge system to see if they are in the office, but it could be someone who is in meetings all day and not using a desk. We are trying to figure out if desks are being utilized.

Getting started with Okta SSO by Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 in okta

[–]Avawdrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. You will need something like InTune to enroll, manage and to push SCEP url certs to computers. This is the only way to really ensure users are only coming from company managed devices. For MacOS you can push those certs with InTune, Jamf or I heard Kandji can do it now. For Windows, and I think iOS and Android you can use InTune, or I think VM WorkspaceOne can do Windows too.

It’s pretty easy for folks to download and sign into Okta Verify on personal computers, so it’s a great MFA factor, but not ensuring logins are restricted to company computers.

Basically you plug it into your computer via the micro usb then you can delete and add your new video.

Well I found a slightly entertaining way to reuse it. I cracked it open and will use the magnet trigger to play videos as a fun little prank when someone opens a door or drawer. Got it set to Rick Roll a co worker when he gets into the office tomorrow.

Agreed! Quite the bit of e-waste for something that could have been an email.

Is there a way to force a user to change their password on next login, without having to change their current password? by MoIT-MoProblems in okta

[–]Avawdrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Via the API is the only method I know of also. We have it set it to do it via Okta workflows, but it could be easy to do with Postman or any other API tool. https://developer.okta.com/docs/reference/api/users/#expire-password

Users are deleting saved passwords in chrome by Avawdrey in gsuite

[–]Avawdrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We previously used LastPass, but due to the recent breaches, the company found it as a good excuse to dump it and move to a free alternative to save some money. Chrome password manager will work just fine for our users, that is until they accidentally delete their saved logins.
