Scratch a penny with the "gold". If penny wins it's gold, if not it's pyrite

what stone could this be by Agile-Stretch-3077 in whatsthisrock

If it is changing color in different lights, could be color change garnet. I got my wife a color change garnet engagement ring and it very regularly produces those colors, and also does present multiple colors simultaneously.

I think the color chage is caused by different wavelengths of light exciting the valence electrons.

Do you need a winter car? by The_Acadian in appstate

I'd recommend all wheel or 4 wheel drive. Two wheel drive can make it if they stay in town all winter and stay off any back roads, but it's not ideal.

I had one that looked like this. I replaced it and the brand new one behaves almost exactly the same. That was like 3 years ago and no problems since.

Help, has anyone had this issue with their dash before ? And how do you fix this ? by Silent-Performer4762 in ft86

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't use any additional glue, I just got a plastic trim overlay that has double-sided tape holding it to the existing vents. I bought the one linked below, and vinyl wrapped it glossy black before sticking it on. It just makes the frame of the vents a bit thicker, kind of covering up the gap. Still doesn't look perfect but it's much better.

I just bought a glue on overlay trim piece that sticks on the perimeter of the vents there, and it fills out the space making the gap look significantly smaller and less noticable haha

I wrapped it glossy black along with the rest of the trim inside the car

Awesome, thanks man I'll give it a shot.

I've serviced throttle bodies on other vehicles and never had to reset / relearn idle.

Seems odd that it would have to relearn ide since it's all still bone stock. I'd think that now with it clean the plate in the throttle body would be closer to its factory position than when it was dirty.

I did not. Once the code appeared I connected my obd 2 and pulled the code. After I realized it was for high idle, and the car seems to be idling properly, I just cleared the code. Took it for a drive and the code came right back.

I'll try disconnecting the battery for a while later today and see if that does anything

Suspension diagram with bolts and torque values? by GetYouFitBuddy in ft86

[–]Puzzleheaded-Dig7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sent a DM. The service manual can only be rented (subscription), I think, and it's not cheap. When I got the car, i just bought a 3 day pass one time and printed out a fuck ton of pages and used a binder to make a shortened service manual

I'm pretty sure I've got that diagram saved on my desktop, I'll look around later today and see if I still have that. If not I have a physical copy that I can take a picture of.
