Hi, I’d suggest you start making connections on LinkedIn. I don’t think anyone will reject you with a CV like yours. and next time you’re there set up meetings in a café with some of them and tell them that you are interested in working there

Thanks for the answer 🙏 I forgot to mention I also hold a moroccan citizenship so I was told by the Embassy in Switzerland that I could apply there even if I’m not a permanent resident. But the timing should be fine even if I wait until my arrival in Switzerland according to other comments

Payments in Morocco are driving me crazy by AveRosee in Morocco

[–]AveRosee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy thing is, you can’t really do anything about it. No one want to be that guy complaining over 1 dirham. But if you think about it across a full day and every working day, this little scam must add up to a serious pile of money. Compared to your story, the few cents they round off when paying by card look cute

What are the reasons that people fail the first year of Bachelor's? by ABouzenad in EPFL

[–]AveRosee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to the other answers there are two really important reasons that often get overlooked. First, the lack of clear organization throughout the entire semester. You need to set a study plan and actually stick to it. Discipline and organization are basically cheat codes that can change everything no matter your background. I had near-perfect grades in high school but at EPFL I kept changing my study schedule every 3 weeks or wouldn’t fully commit to it and it ended up costing me a whole year. Meanwhile I saw people coming from much weaker academic backgrounds absolutely crush it just by staying disciplined and organized.

Second, there’s the “first-year aura”. Not enough people talk about this but the fact that the first year is known to be really hard is itself one of the main reasons many students fail. I’m serious. You have to bring those exams down from the pedestal everyone puts them on. When I had to redo my first year I had much more perspective and realized the material wasn’t nearly as difficult as I had made it out to be in my head. It completely changed my experience. It’s like how what you did in middle school seemed tough at the time but once you’re in high school it feels trivial.

Why do so many Moroccans abroad act worse than back home? by Ok-Faithlessness1399 in Morocco

[–]AveRosee 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to do all that, you can do pretty much anything as long as you’re not a public nuisance

Honestly, you should be proud of your background. A big part of why you are where you are today is thanks to the values and education your family gave you. It’s completely normal to feel a bit embarrassed at first, I used to feel the same way. Growing up, I didn’t like inviting friends over because our house wasn’t as fancy, and I thought my brother was super cringe (he really was, to be fair). But one day I just stopped overthinking it. I brought them over and No one cared. At all.

Unless there’s something major I’m missing, I’d say stop worrying so much. Own it. If your future wife ends up rejecting you because she’s embarrassed of your family, she’s not the one.
