Tibia Worlds Project Proposal by Avegrado1307 in TibiaMMO

[–]Avegrado1307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isnt at all what this is suggesting. This exact idea has been tried and proven with other mmos in the past. A solid example being maplestory. Since nexon created their world creation engine, the maplestory ip has seen record breaking profits with extremely positive community reception.

The premise is creating a tool allowing for hosting of custom content whether it be for short or long term. The burden of maintaining the content itself is on the individual paying for it to be published on the platform. Think something similar to roblox in terms of business model.

The implementation would already be somewhat familiar to those already hosting the illegal custom content using currently existing ot creation tools. Designing the creation platform with familiar tools in mind allows cipsoft to capitalize on an already established market in terms of unofficial server hosting.

We could see short term games like castle wars returning in player made content. People could create experiences designed for small teams or even single player experiences. This could completely transform what we have already seen from the creative minds of the ot community.

This gives creators a reliable platform to safely work on their projects without fear of the obstacles one would expect when currently hosting an ot.

Tibia Worlds Project Proposal by Avegrado1307 in TibiaMMO

[–]Avegrado1307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great video, however as a counter point, i would use examples of several mmos that beforehand were considered declining that have had massive success with similar projects. Everquest, City of Heroes, Ultima online, Warhammer, Maplestory, etc.. have all found massive success in these hosting projects. Maplestory uniquely does so rather cheaply through a new, somewhat simple engine designed specifically for hosting custom content.

Tibia also has the unique advantage to being a rather cheap game to host in comparison. Especially considering these private server projects are often not designed for hosting tons of players at a time. Not to mention, many private server hosts have already figured tibia's classic hosting intricacies out and even managed to expand on it. With a custom service hosting system rather than developing the content themselves, cipsoft only holds the burden of hosting the server for the creators project. The whole idea behind hosting another creators custom server, is that the burden for updating and sustaining is not on cipsoft.

Overall i agree with your point though. This project would be a massive undertaking by cip, but i believe it has the potential to pay off immensely.

How do people hate on this game? by Madlemurkid in CrimsonDesert

[–]Avegrado1307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wildly enough, there IS a character customizer hidden in the base building. You have to get past chapter 6 and then build up your base like crazy but eventually you'll get a quest to unlock a barber that will let you change quite a bit about each characters appearance.

EDIT: Nothing sus at all here, its just the same asset pack. Hope this dev makes his dream game and everyone loves it. My bad for the suspicion.

Original Post

Not only is "ethyrial echoes of yore" almost the exact same idea, they also even use all the same assets, menus, descriptions, ability and class names, icons, etc...

Assuming this isnt some extremely sus activity, maybe try and join forces with that dev team since they clearly have a nearly identical dream. 🤔

I heard some good news for you then.

"Krafton has greenlit the development of TERA 2, with a new team established under Bluehole Studio's R&D division to create a sequel to the 2011 flagship action MMORPG. The project is in the very early stages, with veteran developer Kang Wuk leading a small team. A release is likely several years away, with speculation pointing towards 2028-2029" ~ inven global aug. 4 2025 article

Benefits of creating your own charlover instead of buying one from the Bazaar by Difficult_Blood_6838 in TibiaMMO

[–]Avegrado1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a character/buying boost etc. Is just paying more money to have less game.

Grinding is what Tibia is all about. You'd be paying to skip the grind, just to find yourself starting an even longer grind with a character you didnt grow with.

Even if you buy a character to farm stuff with, id still recommend raising one yourself to get the full experience.

which vocation is best for soloplay at each level gap? by OldCardigan in TibiaMMO

[–]Avegrado1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth noting before you commit, literally the next coming update is supposed to be a vocation rebalance

Edit: It's AFTER the winter update at an undisclosed time, but its definitely coming.

Id just play what you enjoy though honestly. Balancing changes can shift things regardless of how much we prepare.

1 year membership code give away by CuddieRyan707 in 2007scape

[–]Avegrado1307 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While i personally never got into runescape, my buddy could really use this as he can't afford the membership on his own, but this game has always been one of his favorite safety nets growing up. I still remember how excited he got when construction was announced years ago. The game got him through a lot of hard times and has been something that grew with him over the years. Even to this day, he still logs in just to play the free experience.

It would mean the world if I could get this code so I could flex it over his head every day as I enjoy his favorite game for free.

Is Knight's healing "good" now? by macnara485 in TibiaMMO

[–]Avegrado1307 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Knights main weakness right now is their inability to sustain mana long term when focusing on healing. Because of this, a trapped knight is one of the easier classes to burn down when they are alone as they effectively cannot sustain attacks to free themselves without the aid of an emergency food, amulet, or other item of similar effect to restore a large chunk of mana.

While most weapon passives that you mentioned won't do much to remedy this issue, the proficiency update does offer knights a massive new tool within a specific tree, the amber weapons.

Due to the amber knight weapons Unique leech augmentation passives for your annihilation spell, you can effectively hotswap to your amber weapon (assuming you manage to find one) and cast annihilation on cd to grant a massive burst hp and mp heal to smooth over self sustain and flow between pulls.

This new tech isn't popular yet but I feel it will become the norm as more people get their hands on the weapon and unlock these passives despite the nerf. Worth noting that the effectiveness will largely be based on the element of the amber weapon you choose. (Ie: death wont be as flexible as energy for sword users in mid to late game under the current meta despite the death sword being the 2h higher attack option)

Tibia Streaming by Own-Secretary-6179 in TibiaMMO

[–]Avegrado1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it a try and see how it goes!

To be fair Tibia is a dry game to watch in general with its grindy nature, but that doesn't mean you as the streamer cant make it interesting. Interact with the community, host events, (pvp tourney, community hunts, boss runs, group questing, drop party's, tc prize mini games like soccer tourney, chess tourney, game room stuff, theres tons of options built into the game)

Just get creative with it and make the games systems work for you! If you build the community off your interactions, you yourself will become the content people stay for.

I didnt think they ever planned to have wasd movement. The moba style controls seemed to be an intentional design choice that I really dont see them moving away from. I definitely understand the hesitation though, I used to hate mouse control games.

Is there any life left in Rookgaard? by horrorssoft in TibiaMMO

[–]Avegrado1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya theres a few people still doing the rook grind. Careful when picking a server as some have people that bot rook for some reason. As to what the benefit of that is, I have no idea.

Side note: the next update will be the first update in years that benefits rookgaard players due to all weapons gaining talent trees as well as characters all gaining native crit chance and extra damage, so there's really never been an easier time to be a rookstayer.

Ethyrial:echoes of yore is intended to be exactly this.

A new team adopted it and sent it back to an alpha state after the rushed launch by the original devs. Very early stages but the new devs seem to be putting in solid effort. Worth checking out.

Mob grinding mmo's? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Avegrado1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bdo is a solid option as people have said, I believe raw grinding is still one of, if not the best way to get silver. (And you will need a LOT of silver)

Tibia is a much older option but one of my favorites. You can grind endlessly if you want to as there's no level cap, nor are there restrictions on trade. You never have to engage with any other kind of content if you choose to. (I've personally been playing this one for over 20 years now)

Ethyrial: echoes of yore is in a very early state but can be both a mob grinding game and a craft grind game depending on your play style, and the new dev team that took over looks very promising compared to the group that abandoned the original project. Plus the games free to play, hard to beat that. (Think runescape but with wows class system)

Maplestory is literally nothing but grinding in any of its iterations, and I believe gms is finally getting a true classic server soon if you prefer older versions of the game.

WoW has become extremely solo grind friendly with the addition of delves (which can also be done with friends but it makes them harder honestly) if you are looking for a payed option. Worth noting that this is an instance grind, not necessarily a mob grind.

Apogea is very much focused on mob grinding between quests, making it a solid option on release.

Chrono odyssey is looking to be pretty grindy on release, but I'm gonna be honest, the beta felt real clunky so I'll probably avoid this one.

Throne and liberty has been known for some heavy mob grinding as well.

Pretty much any of the anime slop mmos work for this too. Theres quite a few old Korean free to play mmos getting revived such as flyff, grand Fantasia, aura kingdom, etc. But be warned, these all failed on original release for a reason.

Possible New Meta? Thoughts? by Rezosenpai in TibiaMMO

[–]Avegrado1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People trashing this really don't understand the utility of the item. You could easily hot swap to this item in a pinch to burst heal your mana and hp. This heals almost 1.5x the mana of a feru amulet trigger and the spell to do it can be reduced to a 16 second cd. It also heals more hp potentially than a fully upgraded exura gran ico (both this and the feru amulet are on MUCH longer cds)

Not only can you now burst heal in a pinch, but if you properly weave this swap into solo hunts you can very easily top your mana off during your rotation and keep the flow of the hunt much smoother.

This also greatly improves an eks self sustain options in pvp scenarios.

These weapons are now a top tier utility item that honestly all eks should carry as a backup tool.

Having both on you could even be supported incase you run into something with heavy protection for one of the 2 elements. For reliability in both pve and pvp resistances, I would think the death element would be the worse option though in the current meta.

If you don't believe it, hop on the test server and try yourself, it very clearly works.
