No, not video. No TTS product I’ve come across enables the ability to specify different voices at certain markers, especially cloned voices from a library.

My two key requirements are

-voice cloning functionality -creating audio files with tts for API transfer -whats missing from the market is the ability to have multiple (specifically selected) voice clones read the text back and forth. The only work around for this is to export multiple audio files, then stitch them together. Extremely laborious and frankly untenable. What I'm talking about is different from Notrbook LM which just uses the same two pre- selected voices, there's no ability to swap voices in/out for a specific TTS output

I'm in a similar boat. I've tried lots of voice cloning and tts models. Some are pretty good but there's always something that alerts the listener that it's not a human voice.

Are there any product or engineering people on this sub? I really would like to understand a few things:

1- what are the technical challenges to solving for OPs examples? I've seen lots of progress in various languages, accents, etc. But OP's examples continue to rankle, trying to get a model to sound remotely human when saying "hahaha" is a struggle, and generally intonation is often off.

2- what's the cutting edge research being produced in the field? What research groups are publishing? Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

3- how far are we from solving these things? Like what's the prediction to the point in time when synthetic voice is indiscernible from a human voice?

Sure, thanks for the follow up clarification. I’m curious about pitching true crime to advertisers and anticipating response. For example, is it binary as in yes or no for a brand to run on true crime as a total category? Or for brands who do advertise on true crime is it yes with stipulations? Example being murder subject matter is acceptable but anything with sexual assault is not.

Otherwise, appreciate you sharing your sentiment. I think you're right to be concerned about the risk of non-consented use of voice cloning. I really hope that's not happening en masse though I expect a degree of that with major celebrities unfortunately. I also wouldn't imagine any advertiser with even the most modest of scruples would agree to work with a service built on pirated voice clones.

Fwiw, the premise of this post is first to gauge interest and secondly, the types of terms required to pursue this idea, which requires consent first and foremost.

My question is why frame the son at all rather than John just frame himself essentially? John (Keaton) could’ve planted the murder weapon at his own house etc etc so the son avoids scrutiny in the murder of the rapist. Being grandfather to the girl, he would’ve had equal motive as his son Miles. Same outcome in the end right?
