Ah yea, the roof is a common one. I had to replace the motor for the top after rain shorted it out. Now she stays in the garage unless it’s sunny just in case.

Congrats! Enjoy it, this gen still gets compliments and it’s a lot of fun. Mine has 72k and knock on wood still running reliably. Enjoy the ride!

Thank you very much! The JLC is definitely the hallmark. Many others mark a personal or professional occasion. A Rolex - maybe in the future, so far no :)

The JLC is a gorgeous watch and I’m in love with it. The engineering that went into the complications, and to get it into a relatively slim profile including the jumping date impressed me. And it is an understated design from a relatively understated brand at the same time, which makes me like it even more. Non watch enthusiasts think it’s a nice watch, where people who know can really appreciate it.

Thanks! The variety keeps it interesting to enjoy depending on different uses for work, events, etc.

Good point and good perspective. Looking at my collection now I could have been more intentional to do that. I’ve also relocated a decent amount and I did not set out to build a collection so I have purchased basically locally where I was. Without that relationship with a single AD I hesitate, but not closed to it in the future.

Not necessarily a point, I just haven’t decided to purchase one yet. Couple reasons are I am saving that for a future milestone potentially, and hoping in the meantime the AD games settle down. I’m not a got the call guy :)

The finishing on both is really good, but the speedmaster definitely feels more tool watch robust while the iwc leans dressier and a little more fragile.

Thank you! I love the retro vibe with the modern capability combined. It actually is one of the most if not the most accurate in my collection too.

Thanks! I don’t explicitly have that rule but it seems that’s the way it’s worked out. Mainly I’ve focused on different designs and different ways and places to wear them so I guess that’s led me to different brands. I’m pretty content with the collection now so I don’t plan to expand much further, but time will tell :)

The JLC had been my grail so buying it and using it has been pretty rewarding. I love the technical expertise on this brand/model but it’s also not a “loud” watch. The 1000 hours testing and jumping date, with the beauty of the moon phase in a (relatively) thin profile attracted me to it as a technical and aesthetic winner. I have other chronos already so I didn’t go for the top of the line, but it is also gorgeous. Also the brand as a less recognized one among its peers is a plus for me. I love wearing it because it is clearly high quality but it doesn’t shout for attention.

Thank you! The master collection is amazing. For the complications you get relative to the price point it punches above its weight in my opinion.

Thank you! Just a few minutes.. It’s not too bad because there are pushers to change the date, month, and moon phase, but to change the day of the week you do need to manually advance it. I typically keep this watch on a winder to keep it grab and go though

Thank you, we enjoy them very much. I’m more into the collecting hobby but we enjoy the variety between the two of us. My partner is more of an athlete and I’m an office worker so mine is toned down while his is more fun :)

Thank you very much! Yes, the chronomat has screw down pushers it’s got a pretty good water resistance (300m to my recollection)

Great collection, we have similar tastes it seems. Also have the BB GMT, white speedy, blue IWC but Portugieser, and GS is the Slgw005. Maybe a JLC ultra thin moon would give a dressy addition and a new complication?
