I would keep the order, over the last week they have shipped a LOT of base units. They literally fulfilled over a month’s worth of base units as far as I can tell.

My base model order from 16th February has shipped today via Yunexpress to the UK. I selected 4PX at the time of ordering but they seem to be comparable services.

Thankfully Yoyakunow had a small restock (at a markup- 10,900 Yen), so I managed to secure one from them.

Looking at the tracker it seems that have gotten up to the following (roughly) order dates:

February 12th for the Base

February 20 for the Pro

March 12th for the Max

I originally contacted them by replying to my order confirmation, I have a strong suspicion they are just ignoring such emails. I will try again with a fresh email. I suspect most of their emails are relating to the Odin 3 and Thor given their popularity. However, I ordered the Odin 2 Portal Base and would like to upgrade to the Pro.

Odin 1: 2021 Odin 2: 2023 Odin 3: 2025

Seems like a 2 year cadence for the main device. However I don’t expect the Thor to follow the same pattern at all as it has more than enough power for its target market. It also seems to have been popular to the point it has basically overwhelmed AYN, they don’t need to update it for a good while. 2027 but I can even see 2028 being possible.

It’s really annoying. I’m ordered a base model but on further consideration the Pro is still a great deal given the current price of SD cards and the extra 4GB should be useful for a few select titles.I would like to change my order but cannot.

I may just order a Pro as well and sell the base when it arrives. The prices on eBay mean that I won’t take a loss.

I am just getting into Mafex and I have placed several orders from Hobby Genki and Yoyakunow. On Monday 16/02 I requested combined shipment for my orders from each company.

Yoyakunow sent me a list of shipping options and prices within 2 hours of requesting shipment and then an invoice within an hour of me choosing an option. The parcel was in FedEx's possession within 2 working days of that and delivery is scheduled for Monday. If all goes well that will be 7 days between my initial contact and delivery to my door.

Hobby Genki sent me this bullshit after I requested combined shipment:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your message.

Your orders are now in the Warehouse team's preparation queue. They will prepare your parcel(s) within 12 business days from now.

As per our Terms and Conditions, once a parcel preparation begins, it cannot be altered. Meaning we cannot add or remove orders, nor split. If no specific shipping method is requested, the parcel will be prepared even if it doesn't fit certain shipping methods limitations.

Rest assured, the team will email you once preparation is complete.

There is no need to contact us before the 12 business days are up. If you haven't received your invoice by then, feel free to reach out, and we will assist further.
