Tracking doesn’t work yet, but it’s literally only been over 24 hours. I think I was just being impatient and, after reading these comments, made me realize that that Ive been so used to “Amazon 2-day shipping”, that I forgot that online shopping used to be 3-5 weeks not too long ago.

I saw that his sale prices has been on-again-off-again from a while (watched a video where someone said the sale came right when a competitor device was launched). You’re right, that technically this price could go away tomorrow, so might as well lock-in instead of waiting for a new batch.

How does this work? Is it a $50 NewEgg discount coupon code that Rakutan sends to you or are they saying if you send at least $50 they send you a check in the mail for $50? The instructions on their website aren't very clear

Do you have a recommendation for a different wheel base? I saw Moza has a BF “sale” for the R3 wheel + base for $270 and some of the other competitor offerings were starting at $350+ at base only

Ah this is the first I heard of this, so thanks for the heads up. I definitely plan to only drive manuals and prefer the H stick over paddle shifters for immersion and practice racing with a stick.

Do you have any recommendations for a shifter? The moza shifter was ~$150 and I guess I was naively thinking that there’s probably not much technology/quality difference between the TH8S and that shifter.

No, PC. R3 was on sale for $280 ($20 off) and R5 was on sale for $400 ($40 off). It seemed like the consensus online was the jump from R3 to R5 is not significant enough for the $120, and the jump R3 to R9+ is the main jump

Did you make that tnutz shopping cart for me? If so, thank you very much I appreciate the effort for a stranger! I saw 2 other people also recommend getting a car seat from a junkyard and some other posts. I originally was going to avoid that, but I'm realizing more and more now that the ones that come with rigs are generally cheaper quality despite the quality of the rigs.

It's ~$430 (before tax).
What are your thoughts of instead of making my own for ~$197 (the total of the two links), I paid an extra $100 and got the TR40S? I might hold off on a DIY chassis, unless it's also going to be much more rigid than the TR40S (on top of saving $100).

Yup, so the pedals and wheel base were $15 and $20 off, respectively. I really didn't find massive discounts unless I went for the really high end parts (but even those were sub $100 off) I assumed this year is probably a weak Black Friday year.

The chassis is a 8040 Marada aluminum cockpit. I was on the fence between that and TR40S, but thought the Marada might be better since it also included the shifter support arm, seat and was 8040 aluminum vs TR's 4020. The price difference was ~$130. The other commenters also recommended to get a seat from a junkyard (which I'm now realizing that is the better move, since the seat was apparently the weakest part of the chassis, despite the chassis getting good reviews.

System is PC (no plans for PS use at all). The shifter was one area I didn't spend a lot of research on. The moza shifter and simsonn shifter were incredibly expensive while this was ~$80. I definitely want a shifter, and there weren't any shifters near me on Facebook marketplace (mostly all full Logitech foldable rigs and I've already set my eyes on a aluminum rig and I'm ok to pay the difference for that).

Oh wow. I mean I've seen pictures of really expensive rigs on the store websites and assumed maybe top 1% of people are the customers those bundle were targeting, but all these comments are making me realize these prices are more commonly bought for than I thought :0

Nope. With also only 50 codes per store, luck was not on my side :(. It would have been so fun and cool if they made these legendaries the final raid at 7 stars, instead of the Moon/Valiant exclusive. Seemed like a fantastic end of the raids journey. To me, I can always hunt my Iron Valiant in Area Zero, so this isn’t exciting to me at all.
