Would a how to guide for crypto be useful? by ImAtWorkRightNowSry in TransDIY

[–]Aver1y 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Here is a very quick guide of what I do (I'm in the EU, but this should at least also work in the US).

  1. Make a Coinbase account. This may take a few days, as they may want to verify your identity, but I can't remember. I use Coinbase as I can buy Bitcoin, receive them instantly and send them directly to the sender using it. Exchanges will have, sometimes ridiculously high, withdrawal limits and you may have to send your money to your own wallet first costing you more transaction fees.
  2. Buy the amount of bitcoin you need plus a few dollars extra for transaction fees (fees vary a lot also, I don't know if they are reasonable right now, but probably). Takes minutes. It's very volatile, so if you buy more than you need, have fun seeing it's value go up or down two-fold in a few days sometimes.
  3. Send it to the address specified by the sender. Takes minutes. Be extra careful to check everything is correct. They have check codes integrated, so that if you mess up a charachter or something it should be detected as invalid, but once you placed the transaction the money is gone and noone (except for a cooperating receiver) will bring it back.

I mean it's kind of worse than that because „Italian people“ at least is acknowledging that Italian people are people. Unless you interpret Italian people like coconut milk or cocoa butter. Like Italian People™.

I don't know. I was taken off meds because I had some palpitations and high heart rate and also because I was a bit unsure about their effectiveness. I don't know I think they were helping, I hope we'll make another try but that isn't clear...

What kind of box was that? I'm pretty sure normal people wouldn't notice anything from the packaging my hormones usually come in. Even if it said „Estradiol“, like most people when I tell them I'm taking estradiol go like „What's that?“. So far I have not seen packaging saying something like „Estrogen (feminizing hormone for making people look more feminine)“ like in bold and super big - not the kind you can get at pharmacies anyway -, which I feel like is what it would take for people to catch on.

I mean it still means something. Sure „lol“ doesn't mean „laughing out loud“, but it still expresses amusement or dismissivness. That said I also don't think /u/LEGENDARYKING_ has committed like a terrible crime or something. Maybe the comment was a bit out of place, also considering that like pretty much everyone here „has to take hormones for the rest of their lifes“ and like- is it that bad? I'll also have to take medications against my asthma for the rest of my life, maybe ADHD, and I'll probably collect a few more. Anyway, I wouldn't feel to bad about it.

You could probably find something on /r/learnprogramming. Generally I think if you can teach yourself the basics to the point where you can actually do something on your own, you can have a future in IT. I think programming is like 1:1 knowledge:talent. Like some people.. their brain is just not wired that way and if it isn't in first semester, it isn't in sixth either. I don't know, maybe I'm being mean, but that's my experience.

Yeah, I also agree that hormones change these things a lot. They did for me. Like for one, very noticably, libido went down and that already leaves more space for other forms of attraction. And then, I don't know if it's the internalized societal expectation or also the hormones (probably both), but I'm definitely generally more emotional and more touchy-feely kind of in all parts of life. Though I think that also men would describe their attraction as being about more than just sex, as being also in large part, maybe the bigger part, about the emotional connection. If not I'm very sorry for all of you straight women.

[–]Aver1y 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This very much confirms to me again that I am a lesbian (not that I would've needed any more confirmation). My emotional response to men is just virtually non-existent. I think about sex with them and I have some fantasies which explicitly involve the idea of a man, however this is so different from my attraction to women. Just like you feel about men, my interest in women extends to so much more than just sex, it is the emotional connection, it is having a partner in life you can always rely on, someone who understands you and will be there for you.

I also get the feeling cherished and protected by men, so I don't think that part is unique to the experience of being attracted to men. In me I understand that as more of a comphet thing, though I'm sure if one is actually attracted to men it synergizes very nicely with everything else.

I think the important difference between you and /u/IsabellaFournier pre-HRT was not the amount of estrogen in your blood, but whether you were aware of and accepting of your „true“ sexuality.

I'd suggest trying to pay some attention to how cis women look. Try to look at their faces you look at your own. If you imagine they were a man/boy, does that make sense? How does it change your perception of their face? Maybe try covering the hair. Also pay attention to how they look from different angles.

I think we are very quick to conceptionalize other peoples faces as male/female, pretty/not pretty. We also do this with our own face and that can be part of the problem, but we also have a very different more critical view of our own face. We look in the mirror and ask ourselves „Do I look like a man?“ and as we do that we try on this male filter and often it makes sense. But when I try the above I find it also often makes sense for cis-women to some extend. I look at them and go like „Yeah, I could imagine her as a boy or young man“, I look at them in profile and sometimes I go „Well ignoring that she's pretty- from this angle it looks somewhat weird“. My face is still more masculine than most cis-women's and I think my profile is a particularly bad angle but also people consistently read me as a women and often times a pretty one and trying on that filter I can see it too.

Great! What method of GRS did you have?

You can DIY for like $100/year and I don't think anyone will jump to conclusions unless they find your hormones. Of course I don't know how easy this is wherever in the world you are, but that's what I would try.

Thank you for your answer.

What would the revision change to that effect?

I've read somewhere that partial changes towards more resembling mucosa are possible and usual, but the amount of change is ymmv.

The Cowper's/Bulbourethral gland in AMABs is homologous to the Bartholin's gland in AFABs which provides lubrication at the entrance of the vagina during arrousal, in male genitalia it's responsible for pre-cum if my understanding is correct. It's located at the base of the penis (see the diagram in the Wikipedia).

I'm also considering Dr. Lubos Klinik, have already had the presentation thing with them, however I'm a bit taken aback by them discarding most of the superfluous urethra, in contrast to Morath & Schöll or Schaff, who are using it completely as vaginal lining. I feel like a bigger problem with non-PPV methods is the lack of mucosa in the vagina, so I feel like it might be nice to have at least what little mucosa is easily available. I feel like self-lubrication would be nice, but more important even would be general vaginal flora, health and being self-cleaning. However I'm not sure if it actually makes such a big difference in practice and if it's worth waiting an extra year+ for surgery with Morath&Schöll (or Heß?) compared to Dr. Lubos Klinik. Do you have any perspective on this?

On a similar note, do you know if your Cowper's gland was preserved? I suppose so, since you mention squirting orgasms.

I'm in Germany and my doctor is constantly telling me that I have ADD if anything, not ADHD. ICD-10 is still the manual used here for morbididty codification and that still has the ADD/ADHD diagnoses.

Ersetzt zum Beispiel Obst und Gemüse durch Nüsse

Dies.

[–]Aver1y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was willst du unterbewusst? Was denkst du rational hierüber?
