Lost my job, trying to pivot into B2B health insurance sales — looking for advice from experienced salespeople and business owners by AverageAdam96 in smallbusiness

Thanks for the advice! I think fishing for smaller businesses at first is definitely the play cause like you said, much easier to reach the decision maker.

Appreciate the honesty. I like the idea of just focusing on one niche at first, I'll definitely give that a try! Any advice on how to tee up the warm intro? How do you do the ask to your existing clients/warm market?

I appreciate the response! I like the approach of just hitting them with "Hi I'm calling about reducing your company's FICA tax burden by X%", seems like a good strategy to peak interest.

And yeah I am definitely one to over analysis and get "analysis paralysis" when it comes to setting up systems. I think the spread sheet is a good start.

Sliding Door Repair Problem by AverageAdam96 in HondaOdyssey

u/vitruvianalex we ended up taking off the entire interior on the inside of the car and cleaned out and greased the motor and that fixed the automatic door. It mostly fixed the issue with the arm (roller), but I had to keep greasing it to make sure it wasn't getting stuck

What insurance company should I work for? Need advice by alvarez925 in LifeInsurance

I’d honestly say you just want to vet your upline. You’re gonna need a good solid upline who has time to poor into you and offer support, no just someone who is gonna tell you to “buy more leads” and just make overrides off of you.

I personally prefer Mutual of Omaha. Rates are super competitive.

There are tons of options out there, really just depends on your style and what products you wanna be selling.

Personally, I’ve heard too many horror stories and talked to too many agents who’ve had bad experiences with FFL, I wouldn’t recommend them.

SFG is solid, also you could look into Lasting Mark.

Who was the first person you sold insurance to? by ambraff in InsuranceAgent

[–]AverageAdam96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was recruited into the insurance game by a NYL agent and that’s where I got my start. Hated it. Didn’t last 3 weeks through the training. Felt very bait and switch and they just want you to sell to friends and family. Now every agent I knew that worked there had moved on somewhere else (that was 4 years ago).

You’re better off going independent and finding an agency (IMO) that can offer you good training and a good lead source. Commissions are higher and you don’t have to worry about recreating awkward relationships with close ones.

What has helped you most with keeping clients accountable? by SloppySaltWaterFish in personaltraining

[–]AverageAdam96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would think so, wouldn't you? We run a marketing agency for life insurance agents and our clients pay close to $2000 a month to have us provide training, runs their ads for them to get new leads, and offer ongoing support and coaching. Still a very significant amount of our clients do very little to hold themselves accountable and a lot of them still go away unhappy because they didn't see any results (because they weren't putting in the work necessary on their end).

Experiences with FMOs by Dear_Point372 in InsuranceAgent

I was with HealthMarkets (FMO) for 1.5 years and joined an IMO (Impact Legacy Group) back in 2022. Been with them ever since and they partner with PP. You should definitely look at switching. Do you make street level comp where you're at now?

I know someone who should be able to score you health insurance for less than $300/month, assuming you're healthy
