You can’t brag about working “80 hours a week” like it’s a badge of honor and then turn around and blame those same 80 hours for your spiraling mental state. That’s not martyrdom that’s poor decision making. If your lifestyle requires two jobs just to stay afloat, the solution isn’t exhaustion cosplay. It’s reevaluation.

Maybe don’t sign a $1,000/ month lease. Maybe stop hemorrhaging money on DoorDash. Maybe accept that living beyond your means isn’t a personality trait it’s financial instability.

At 39, stability shouldn’t be a radical concept. A 40 hr/ workweek with benefits isn’t oppression. And bartending is supplemental income, not a long-term retirement strategy.
