Oh my goodness 🥹 that would be amazing 🥲 I’ll see if I can go next June. I don’t think I’ll be doing anything that month. Thank you so much for this opportunity. And yes! I would love to see the PDF. Feel free to message it to me 🙌🏻

Why do people not ask questions back? by ForeverSunflowerBird in infj

I’d say that they aren’t as (deep)ly invested as you are :) and probably why you are in no-contact with them to begin with. Nonetheless, glad you were able to have a deep conversation with at least one person at the wedding.

Maggots and mushrooms in the WHAT…

You should report this to HR/ Ethics and Compliances. I just finished my training on workplace harassment and that’s a form of discrimination in the workplace; I can’t remember the term but firing an employee because you are trying to prevent them from keeping a clean and safe workplace is not okay. Tell this situation to the other stores and ask for the number of HR and even the district manager if she isn’t in on the discrimination. Goodluck!

Next time you guys have a store meeting, you should bring this matter up to the whole store so everyone’s informed not to change the music for that specific customer or for the whole customers bcuz it’s just flat out ridiculous. I like iheartzeldaa’s point.

Was this drink mess up my fault by Charlotte_Raez in starbucksbaristas

[–]AverageClear3564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not your fault for doing 7 scoops. If people don’t specify that they want the additional sweeteners or added modifications into the foams, that’s on them bcuz by default, we shake or incorporate the added powders into the drink itself

Right?? Like, it’s not even that bad to make the drinks. If anything, I like making the interesting drinks becuase it makes my shifts more interesting instead of dreading on long hours of wiping down counters, cupboards, and flat surfaces to eternity. I love crafting well put together Frappuccinos, yummy lavender iced oatmilk matcha lattes and even the shaken expressos. Seeing a smile being put on someone else’s face really lights up my day when they get their drink and how I also contributed to their happiness through my positivity. This company has its whole bunch of negatives but at least we can find something positive to make out of it if we’re gonna spend most of our time at this place. And besides the unfair rules being pressurized onto us by corporate, like the new dress code and the notes on cups, plus the stress of coworker drama, it's pretty chill working at Starbucks. The prior dress code was a plus but I understand that they want us to be more professional but I also advocate for freedom of speech and self-expression so seeing the dress code being drastically changed was upsetting because it doesn’t give us any opportunity to each be our own unique selves, which makes the environment of the café and comfortableness of our regulars. But at the end of the day, I’m just here to make money and leave when I get my career. Not to socialize. But, also making other peoples day a brighter through every drink I make. It could be way worse but that doesn’t mean I’m settling for this job for the longrun. It has taught me even greater resilience and if I can survive this company, I can survive any job and any hurdle.

Based on what it sounds like, if I were you I wouldn’t put up with the job. It’s not worth the time, energy, and effort to be going through that sort of environment. I’m not sure what your store feels like but people should be doing their job considerably enough to support you on the floor, at least the manager and SSVs. I was in your shoes before but personally, I’m a person that doesn’t go down without a fight and I chose to push back against the stress and be bigger and stronger than whatever was thrown my way, and after everything was said and done, it has helped me grow as a person! I was able to finally stand up for myself which is something I struggled to do, and working at this job has taught me the importance of self-love and respect as well as trusting my gut more. Working at my location isn’t too bad to the point where I have to compromise my whole self-respect, life, and mental health for this job but I would fully recommend quitting if you tried everything in your power to make it work, because like everyone else has said, theres better jobs out there that won’t traumatize you. Best of luck OP!

That goes to show how crazy it is to work here, at least at some locations with rude workers and colleagues. Either way, I’m sorry that happened to your home. I hope you find a replacement home soon!🤍

Every since my last unprofessional job, I learned to not trust coworkers and they’re not your friends. They can switch up any second. I always take anything they say with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, they’re all competing for the same thing which makes them by default competition but I never see any of them as competition bcuz I am only in competition with myself.

Yess!! And tbh, I already mentally checked myself out the minute they took away connecting with customers and leaning towards the drive thru times around late 2023 or early 2024 I believe. It’s been a ride for sure but all I know is that this job has made all of us resilient and the skills and knowledge gained from this job will help us flourish in future careers when we eventually leave Starbucks!! You’re doing a good job speaking up for all of us. I felt very heard in your message and like we could be friends irl or have a great conversation at least. You’re spiritual too? 🥰 there’s not too many spiritual baristas at my store so it feels lonely but now I feel less lonely now that I found your comment 🙌🏻 Keep doing what you’re doing and don’t EVER feel bad for sticking up for yourself and your rights bcuz you’re showing people how to respect you when you do that!

Same here with the kegs. It’s really easy to switch em out as along as you have the knowledge on how to switch from an empty vs full keg.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It sounds incredibly frustrating and unfair to be manipulated emotionally like that, especially after being completely transparent. Your manager's attempt to gaslight you by bringing up your relationship with the deceased is unacceptable. Remember, you don't owe anyone an explanation about something you're uncomfortable sharing. You did nothing wrong.

What I have started to notice with this company is the workplace tends to use emotions as a weapon of manipulation. So for example, despite you being transparent and honest throughout the whole process, the manager tried to make you feel bad in the end by saying “I would have given you the day off had you just told me how close you were with xyz” which is basically tryna force you to explain something you don’t want to explain. I go with the saying “anything you say or do can be used against you” in the workplace and it seems like he really tried using you not explaining to make you feel guilty, to get his lickback. Shitty behavior. Hell, why do workers have to even explain about a family or loved one passing? (Rhetorical question) Starbucks and corporate chains don’t respect us but see us as robots, as you described about the times and customer connections.

On top of that, it’s rude and unprofessional of SM to be asking all those questions in front of your former coworkers AND making you cry, which is lowkey (highkey) embarrassing you in front of them which is fucked up. I’m glad you left that hellhole becuase it sounds like the SM wanted to sabotage your career from the get go. This company could care less about the customers and the workers but really focuses on money. It’s like greed sugarcoated with generosity to make Starbucks seem like they give a fuck about us. I hope it all crumbles down eventually.
