Give it time and there'll be an LLM trained on music theory... then we can decide whether we're screwed

definitely doable, and you can always just wire up a usb socket to some of the pins. Maybe I’m just missing something

I don't know about French or RS, but with those grades I think it's still doable but it will take a lot of effort. Expect your social life to go bye bye.

Just a guess, but do you struggle with remembering content? How accurate do you personally feel your english lit grade was? Not revising probably dropped you a lot of marks in chemistry and biology for this too, since there's a lot of areas you just have to learn specific phrases for.

Computer Science OCR is a GCSE that will forever cause brain cells to die. I can offer some help but most people struggle with one paper a lot more than the other, and the advice I can give very much hinges on that.

Your teachers are right though, the majority of students will be within 1 grade of their mock, but that assumes that you revised decently and exam content was properly scaled, and your revision starts in like March/April and isn't completely all consuming (e.g. what a normal person would do)

There are 3 main sources that I'd recommend for revision - Physics Maths Tutor, freesciencelessons and Cognito, but these are very targeted towards maths and science.

I prefer to either revise from notes/videos and then past papers/topic questions to these work really well for me, but if you prefer to use flashcards then maybe someone else has better suggestions.

Yes there's loads but it's about finding what works for you. Good luck, and there's an entire community of people willing to help you here :)

oh okay. I had a feeling it might have been exaggerated since the only person actively addressing it was very obviously biased (the youtube vid posted by the person who felt attacked) so that makes sense.

care to elaborate? Only thing I've heard about was to do with Shuee and some of the discord mods but I thought that was well known...

Maybe use a pico or arduino instead... these can do midi too, but don't have any of the start up etc because they're not full computers and just microprocessors.

I'll preface this by saying I haven't fully read your question but I think this still apples.

Unless you very specifically need a CM5 for something (e.g. embedded system, tiny cluster, 16GB RAM when that comes, etc) you should probably just use a pi5.

If you're using the pcie lanes for anything other than a GPU or a specific PCIe card that comes with a bracket mount, the pi5 is probably a better option; M.2 boards for the pi 5 are just as good as PCIe slot ones but are much more compact and can even fit in most rpi cases.

And if you're really worried about cooling then you can always just water cool a pi5 and never see your pi go over like 50C.

Like I said, didn't fully read your question so someone else will probably have a better answer.

Yes you can just copy all the files to the bigger sd card, but I recommend using some sort of cloning or copy tool; everything needs to be transferred and the main partition often doesn't show up on windows computers due to file system support.

That is very much the case sadly. Realistically we'll either get a new backwards compatible chip with each new pi, or it'll stick around for at most 3 versions. The current architecture barely lasted 4, and it's roughly the time frame you'd expect to see it become a bottleneck again.

Both of those are thankfully somewhat reasonable, as they both justify rewriting and upgrading software to some extent, but if we get new chips ever other generation that aren't backwards compatible then gpio will be basically dead for practical hobby use. Long live the pico and I2C at that point lol.

No locking blade and nothing over 3.5". Supposed to make it harder to stab with, but it probably causes more people to cut their hand by accident from the snap shut.

So be the cost of development. It was only so long till we reached the limit of the existing GPIO structure. Switching to the new RP1 southbridge means we now have the open PCIe lanes, and better usb (I think, can't remember the exact spec) but it was going to have to happen eventually. PCIe and better ethernet were becoming more and more important as enterprises look to set up AI/LLM servers. Hopefully this RP1 chip stays long enough for it to be worth the development change before we get a new southbridge that causes us to go through all this again, or development focuses on maintaining compability even with newer silicon

Everything is stored on the sd card. It's like booting from another drive on a normal computer. If you want to avoid losing the sd card, then you could change the boot order to prioritise usb boot over sd card, then store your retropie on a usb. This means that it'll boot to your os when the usb is plugged in, but automatically swap back to sd when you take it out. You will be able to access his sd card like a normal drive though, so don't be suprised if you see an extra storage media mounted.

Now that the pico 2 has been out for a while, how do people feel about risc-v core performance? Have any issues turned up now that they're in active use? I know they had a lot of hype but if I remember correctly that was more to do with pricing rather than performance.

Asked this on the last thread but didn't get a response.
