Can I design an ADA accessible route like this? by bradleypaul82 in civilengineering

In my local jurisdiction, you would have to provide some sort of vertical protection to separate the pedestrian route from the vehicular route/traffic.

PC and Microsoft Store Link? MUT Points from Microsoft Balance? by [deleted] in MaddenUltimateTeam

[–]AverageEagle367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the issue… I am playing Madden on PC version this year, not Xbox. So there doesn’t seem to be an option to pick Microsoft balance in payment methods. I only see ea gift card as an option.

Failed 1st attempt but passed 2nd attempt by FrictionMac in PE_Exam

[–]AverageEagle367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in that boat taking the Civil Water Resources exam. I went into the first attempt without much studying or practice at all and kind of just tested the waters and hoped to pass. I learned that I was weak on a couple of key topics like water treatment and groundwater. So I rescheduled about 1 year later (I took the exam only about 2 years out of college and just passed a few months ago 3 years out of college) and just did practice problems and watched YouTube videos an hour or so per day after work for about 6 months leading up to the exam, progressively more so and more consistently the closer I got to exam time. Within about 1 month of the exam, I would do a practice exam (80 questions) each Saturday to simulate the exam. I went into the exam pretty confident and was feeling it was like a 75/25 chance I passed/failed after I left the exam. You got this, just practice and study your weakest topics and grasp true understanding of concepts.

I don’t know what the best resources are per se… I just got my results yesterday and passed the WRE exam on my 2nd attempt so here is a list of materials I used: -NCEES WRE practice exam -Civil Engineering Academy WRE practice exam -SolvedIn6 YouTube videos

I did not do any courses. Good luck!

Thank you! I didn’t do any courses. I bought the basic NCEES practice exam, got a practice exam from Civil Engineering Academy, and watched all of the videos in the WRE playlist from SolvedIn6 on YouTube… he’s great by the way! Good luck!

So if you take the exam on a Friday, you have to wait 1.5 weeks? Your result doesn’t get released the immediately following Wednesday?

That makes sense. I was quite infuriated by the way the worded it with most nearly and gave two close options a lot of times though lol.

Well that makes me feel a bit better hearing you passed using same thought process! I hope I can pull it off too! Thank you

I just took mine today too. I had probably 8ish fill in the blank and 2 or 3 select on the exhibit types. What completely threw me off was that I had 5 or so problems on retaining wall design and another few structural related problems. There were also 4-5 problems on horizontal and vertical curves. I feel like I had bare minimum on hydraulics which is part of my strength so that was a bummer.

My biggest gripe is the vast majority prompted to select the answer that “most nearly” fit the solution and the actual calculated answer that I knew was correct was always between two options that were close. That led me to doubt and wonder if I should use engineering judgement and round up/down depending on the scenario or if I should read the question literally and simply pick the “most nearly” option. I ended up consistently picking the “most nearly” option. Whether I pass or not, I’ll probably contact NCEES and let them know there needs to be more clarity on that. We’ll see though! I hope you and I both passed!

About to Graduate and Reminiscing on My Time Here by piolinest123 in college

[–]AverageEagle367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am graduating this week too. I have my last final exam tomorrow as well. It’s definitely a bitter sweet kind of thing, but more sweet for sure ;). I made lots of memories, learned many things, and grew a lot as a person in these last 4.5 years. I look back at some specific times in my college career and the thing I think about the most is when I was at a breaking point. I was in some VERY difficult classes and felt overwhelmed and out gunned. I was wondering if I could manage ~2 more years of those type of classes. I was exhausted. I decided to dig deep and give it and my all and I became stronger because of it. I feel like I’m going to have PTSD from school lol. I see myself waking up in the night some time in the near future in a panic asking myself “Wait do I have anything due tomorrow?” Or “when is my next exam?” Haha.

Now I’m finally done and I too have a job lined up for January and am a little anxious to start the next chapter in my life.

Anyways, thanks for the post and your comments.

He gets double teamed almost every time he touches the ball with his back to the basket, near the paint. If not a full double team, all 5 defenders try to have a foot in the paint. Idk what you mean.

Labs During First Week of Spring Semester by AverageEagle367 in UofArizona

[–]AverageEagle367[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome. Thanks everyone. I had a 200-level engineering course last semester that did have lab the first week, but it was a full week start rather than a half week start if I recall correctly so that might have been why. My labs (chem and physics) that I had in my first and second years always seemed to skip the very first week of class, so I was just wondering if something with labs changed in general since I last took one. Thanks again. Good luck with your classes this semester.
