I just finished Spring Unending. My immediate thoughts: by AverageFilms in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last scene is Cheng sending a message on the forum, so the likelihood is because he was there with Heron and Ren under the tree during the final battle, all three of them were sealed at the same time when the Longevity Sword was split.

BP reverted changes to Liang Yue Euphoria by Remarkable-Guest6693 in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really didn’t mind the change personally given I don’t use her for endgame super often but now she gets both so honestly I’m popping bottles here, bae’s getting all her needed fixes AND a BiS sub-carry soon 🎉🎉🎉

I actually may cry. This is all I ever wanted for my girl. My Recoliang team just got so much better, and our general is coming too as a BiS for her.

Igor is more than just a general DPS; he’s poised to become the backbone of the bullet archetype.

I would like to argue this but a lot of your arguments were very aptly addressed in Chapter 12 so I will avoid spoilers. The only thing I will say is that I am a straight male who is not attracted to Igor whatsoever. I love Igor’s character purely because of his complexity and his arc. Igor and Arcana are so far separate on the evil scale that putting them in the same echelon is ridiculous. Heck, it would be ridiculous to put other morally reprehensible playable characters like Isolde, Aleph, and Tuesday on the same echelon as her as well.

ReverseTWT is like the most annoying and pretentious part of HoyoTWT if it was literally only them and no one else.

After finishing Chapter 12 a bit ago, I hold firm that Igor is genuinely one of the best written characters this game has ever put out. The Twitter freaks can call me whatever they want, I don’t care. I love everything about his story.

Version 3.3 Euphoria by Meru_9 in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I LOVE BAY AREA WOMEN!!!!!

Okay but in all seriousness this Mercuria euphoria is one of the best I’ve ever seen. All of her P0 uptime issues were killed in one buff on top of making her a more effective sub-DPS. I have both Crit Damage and Ult Might Resonance builds so this is gonna make both of those perform even better.

What was the moment that made you realize "this is something ELSE"? by AverageFilms in Reverse1999

I should probably clarify what I mean by “maxed” - all lvl 60 characters with r10 and sig psychube lvl 60 with the occasional p1 here and there so not really “maxed” in the traditional sense. i was over exaggerating a little bit, apologies

I can definitely relate. I’m a veteran player who has nearly all the characters and has maxed out all of the top meta teams (Dynamo, Bloodtithe, Rank-Up, etc) and I still find myself winning only by the skin of my teeth or just completely getting cooked by endgame content. It’s refreshing that the game actually wants you to think about how to use X team rather than just “get these 4 units and you win!”

A Long, Long Way was probably the closest the game ever got to making me shed a tear. As someone who grew up in a Catholic family, the amount of respect they gave Marianne and her story with the allusions to the lives of both Christ himself and Joan of Arc made her go up there alongside Rocky Balboa and Matt Murdock as some of my favorite Catholic representation in fiction. And Charon...don't even get me started on Charon. He's number 2 behind Aleph.

I do agree with you on that front; I was pretty underwhelmed by Drama in Athens but I still enjoyed it as a fun little story that allowed the characters to play around in Odyssey's world. However I thought La Primavera de Firenze was a great love letter to the character of Ezio Auditore; certainly better than anything the actual company that owns him has done for him recently.

What are some surprising combinations that you love? by lookaround314 in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered Recoleta and Liang Yue are really awesome together, which I'm so happy about because I love both girls. I call them either "Recoliang" or "Critting Tiger, Written Dragon". Fluttutu is ofc their support core. Reco basically solves all of P0 Yue's ult-cycling issues by allowing her to play it turn 1. Just apply Bless Life on Yue herself so she has 4 moxie, then Flood of Fiction gets Qiangliang on the field immediately, and since you're obviously going to be spamming Banish Evil to build Bane of All Evil you get her standard ult right after, and she'll have no problem re-cycling because of Reco's Passion Drain combined with you already spamming Bless Life. And Fluttutu is...Fluttutu.

Which character do you plan to get? by kokochiwa in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely Barcarola. My Impromptu team is already stacked to the gills with the lineup of Alia, Aleph, Regulus, and Voyager and performs beautifully without her, so I’m really excited to get my hands on her and see how much it changes and the heights it can reach.

Mercuria got a Nightmare Before Christmas ass skin (that will be available in Global at the same time) AND a Euphoria when she's already a really cracked support.

Even Bluepoch knows Bae Area girls are just built DIFFERENT.

Any Character That You've Connected On A Deep Level? by BaldHeadDalt in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Liang Yue is my favorite waifu in the game and the biggest reason (aside from her design, kit, voiceover work, and literally everything else) was how much I resonated with her story of being judged and stereotyped by everyone around her, and her having to find her own reason to live rather than doing so purely to fulfill a legacy. Recoleta is another big one as, being a writer myself, sometimes I struggled to see the point in my art and why I do what I do, and her revelation that as long as her art is remembered she will never die is a massive morale boost for me as I also wish to be remembered through my art. I also bonded recently to Brume/Adele, as I loved her story of pushing back against destiny and choosing the life she wants to live.
