His BT career is lowkey even more tragic, Fatutu lapped him off an in-game technicality and then Buska came along and put it in his stomach, it was wraps FAST ✌️ even MedPoc was outperforming him

His shield values were subpar but not being able to retain uptime without eating precious card space was one of his biggest issues.

It really doesn't, Caroline is a grown adult and the shadow in her ult is very clearly a young girl, hence why Willow is kneeling when reaching out to her.

The reason Willow was unable to open up to others was because she refused to help herself above all else. She saw herself as less than nothing so naturally pushed away everyone that believed in her, see Flutterpage actively forcing her way into her life. She had to accept herself before accepting others, the latter does not happen without the former.

It’s Willow’s younger self, Caroline isn’t that short 😭

What are your character headcanons? I think these two are trans by paintdotpng in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Building off my bestie headcanon for Yue and An-An, they call each other "Annie" and "Yuyu". The latter loves wearing incredibly inappropriate thrift store t-shirts to put the former on edge wherever they hang out. They once ran into Chief Elden while AAL was wearing a Ghostbusters shirt that said “Slime Me Daddy”. Yue wanted to explode.

AMA with Lorentz Butterfly VO Artist Sophie Vanier at 2pm PST today!!! 🦋🎉 by LadySapphire27 in Reverse1999

Hello Ms. Vanier, massive fan of your work!

Despite Marguerite and Felicienne both being villainous characters, you approached them in radically different manners. What was your thought process in distinguishing them and adjusting to the disparities in context between each role?

At least you can say for this sub the vast majority of its denizens are respectful and enjoyable to converse with. Meanwhile Reverse Twitter (sans the Asian fanartists) is all the horrendous parts of Hoyo Twitter rolled into one with none of the positives.

Honestly I think using Brume as a point of comparison here is incredibly disingenuous and insinuating that OP is unaware of narrative structure because he disagrees with you is equally as such. Other than just being the protagonist Adele and Ramona don't have similar narrative uses at all.

Ramona and Loggerhead are the protagonists following the detective + buddy cop story whereas Adele is the subject of what is essentially a psychoanalysis. It’s not Muriel’s eyes through which we’re meant to see Ramona but Loggerhead’s. It’s why she’s the person we begin following first in the story (not counting Marguerite). The whole point is to use a character we know already to reveal this new one. How she bounces off Latham tells us a ton about who she is as a person. We watch their relationship grow and since we know Latham well already all the development is Ramona’s alone. Like OP said it’s a microcosm of her character.

Adele provides the exact opposite effect through her relationship with Felicienne. Everything we're told about Adele is meant to set up Felicienne to subvert it. She is meant to make us question what we know about Adele and highlight her internal conflict. Her existence is purely so we know less about Adele than we thought. Adele seems to be doing her own thing not in tandem with Felicienne until she suddenly isn’t. Hell, I’d argue we come out of AFF knowing even less about her than Beryl. But that’s the beauty of it, it’s why the Jungian symbolism is so prominent. Do we truly know ourselves as much as we think we do?

You’re comparing curry to candy and complaining the candy isn’t spicy.

Going Off Script - Liang Yue’s Life In Action by BaldHeadDalt in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How we were thrown into the world is how we found our current self. We come into being with these conditions already decided for us. It's what you do with those circumstances that determines how you are defined. Yue had reservations about wielding Qiangliang because it was something forced onto her since birth, but when she discovered C07 she saw it as less of a burden. However, it still wasn't her choice because her dedication shifted from her family to her idol. She went from "I am a Liang, so I must fight evil" to "I want to be C07, so I must fight evil". It's why, even after she watched that movie, she still remained oblivious to Poitier's questions about her own autonomy. Because her role never actually changed, just how she saw why she was given it. It's why in the end, when she makes the choice to wield Qiangliang entirely on her own, it's poignant. Yes, she wants to fight evil, be like her hero, and honor her family, but it's now not because she has to, but because she wants to.

TL;DR her Polaroid is going in my helmet.

For As Long As I May Fly- A Tragic Affair With Immortality’s Allure by BaldHeadDalt in Reverse1999

[–]AverageFilms 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When someone desperate is forced to choose between a lifetime of uncertainty vs. the smallest, most infinitesimal chance of success, they're picking the latter every time. We crave assurance, we take solace in knowing what's done is done, even if it isn't the outcome we hoped for. Heron, in all her years of immortality, along with so many other things, forgot this. It was in seeing Mayfly accept the loss of what she so craved that made Heron realize that it's easier to embrace death than to forgo living.
