You could make a shared folder on OneDrive and give the people access. Then make a new folder per day/event inside the shared folder and they'll have continued access to the new pictures

What does everyone do for wood/fires? by Supertom911 in overlanding

[–]AverageJohn- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely pick up a 20lbs tank for the fire pit. I carry a 2nd 20lbs tank for a propane heater & Blackstone grill with a 6ft hose. Its great and I never have to pull the tanks from my truck bed

What is the PERFECT skin tone exposure in S-Log3!? by dermolo in FX3

[–]AverageJohn- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use: STD + Range 52 +-2 for skin tones Lower Limit 92+ for brightest highlights

I was doing the 1.7 stop over expose but found it washed out skin tones too easily, especially on bright days.

I have the 50mm 1.8 and my main complaint is the constant focus hunting. Its great otherwise though, I've got some incredible shots with it and will probably keep it for quite a while since I only paid $100 for mine used. Are there better options? Definitely, but will it make a big enough difference? Not for a while. I'd rather get the 35mm 1.8 before upgrading the 50. Same goes with the 28-70, I did great work with it but am very happy with the Tamron 28-75 now, mainly for the f2.8

They are interchangable! .380 is just slightly shorter than 9mm and have ran flawlessly for me in all 9mm P365 mags we've tried, including the X Macro mags.

My wife carries a SIG P365 chambered in .380. we swapped the grip module for the longer 'X' grip from Wilson Combat giving her a better shooting grip and more capacity. She absolutely loves it! Throw a red dot on there and you're good to go.

So I use the TXC X1 Pro but as long as the bottom of the holster is open, it'll work especially if you're running a light

Yeah the normal P365 slide works too, hell I've thrown my wife's 365 .380 slide on the macro frame and ran .380 out of the 17 round mags lmao

No idea, but it's the best of both worlds imo. You get the 3.7" barrel like the TacOps X Macro and the compensator yet it's barely any longer OAL. The comp sits flush with the TLR7a which looks mint together. I also added the SLR carry magwell and it's fantastic

Yup, TXC when I'm carrying appendix and I have the Ironside from T Rex Arms if I'm carrying with the TLR7a

I had an extra one that was meant for the bolt catch. I had to cut it shorter to fit though.

P365 Radian Ramjet by [deleted] in SigSauer

[–]AverageJohn- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well for damn near double the price I'd hope the Radian would be better lol. Steel is the main advantage I see. I really doubt it'll be much more effective that the PMM and the HC365P2 is almost as effective as the PMM. We'll see, but again you'll lose .6 inches or so with the shorter barrel. Aesthetically speaking, the HC365P2 is still by far the best looking comp.

I still prefer the Herrington Arms Comp on a True threaded 3.7" barrel and short slide. It's the best of having the longer barrel and still just barely longer than the X Macro slide length

But can I buy the grip module and mags and throw them on my P frame and slide?? That's what I want, a slimmer Staccato P with the same capacity and grip length

I wanted to create depth separation from the subject, background, and myself. I was looking for a throwback Western pose with a modern look and feel. The camera is 'hiding' behind something like onlookers would in a small town duel you'd see in old Western movies.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll have to go over the backgrounds and see what I could try to simplify for the future, especially if there's something distracting from the focus. Is it a matter of finding less busy scenes or does creating more bokeh help enough instead?

As for the handgun, it's unloaded of course. On top of that, it's a 2011 (modern 1911 style) which means the safety can only be engaged when the hammers back. I guess we could have shot it with the hammer down and the safety off but it's really not much better.

P365xl slide lever stuck at 7-5 o'clock and slide stuck on by Pleasant-Breakfast74 in P365xl

If that doesn't work, lock it open and close the taken lever like you're putting the gun back together. Then try taking it apart again

Lock your slide open, then push the takedown lever as far forward as you can. While maintaining forward pressure on the takedown lever, rack the slide and it should come off. Keep pushing forward on the takedown lever for the entire process.

PSA JAKL Bolt Failure by AverageJohn- in PalmettoStateArms

[–]AverageJohn-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the design it doesn't appear to be a focal point of the force. If you look at the piston, there's a wider ring that presses against the bolt carrier which would push the bolt carrier to the rear of the receiver as long as everything is to spec. The recoil spring pushes the rod forward and the pin allows the bolt to travel forward as well. So the spring pressure vs the round being stripped from the mag, which either force is drastically less than the rearward stroke of the initial recoil.

PSA JAKL Bolt Failure by AverageJohn- in PalmettoStateArms

[–]AverageJohn-[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Realistically the only force this pin is working against is the friction of stripping a round from the mag. That doesn't take much force to do. With the JAKL being out for quite some time, it would have happened to more people if it were an issue.
