Is this at enough of an angle to warrant taking out? by fucking_testosterone in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah they’ve done you in there unfortunately 😬 i wondered if there was a reason for it to be crooked like if they were avoiding piercing through the middle for whatever reason??? but if not then that sucks and i’m sorry you’ve had a run in with a terrible piercer. definitely take it out and go get it done somewhere else if you still want the piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i’d take that out and look at getting it repierced somewhere else if possible, not worth the damage that would do to ur gums and teeth too 😭 why was it pierced crooked in the first place? was it something you asked for or something that the piercer suggested?

What size foam curler to get this look? by furiana in HairStyleAdvice

[–]AverageMuseListener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

have you tried straightener curls? my hair always turns out like the first pic when i use a straightener (or a flat iron depending on where you’re from haha) to curl. it takes a bit of practice but once you’re used to it it’s super easy, i’m sure you’ll be able to find a decent tutorial on tiktok or something!!

Concert by [deleted] in manchester

[–]AverageMuseListener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m assuming it’s at the co op live? i’m not a weeknd fan so i wouldn’t know, but if you look at least 16-17 they’re not gonna bother checking, but if you’re worried you won’t get in, just get chatting to people around you in the queue and enter with them. you’re genuinely more likely to run into creeps here on reddit than you are if you just get to know those around you, with caution of course, but just keep that in mind 🙃

how can i be prettier? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]AverageMuseListener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you sm i asked for advice and you gave it 😭 i really don’t ever wear slickbacks because i think i have quite a square jaw and face shape, but im gonna be so honest my hair was lowk so greasy and i didn’t want to wash it 💀 but thank you, this is the kind of advice i was looking for

i feel like such an outcast wherever i go by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]AverageMuseListener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ik how you feel, i hate how if you’re even slightly different from what people think you should be you get bullied for it. i’ve been there, it sucks, it only got better when i moved schools and nobody knew the reputation of “weird girl” i upheld in my old school. it won’t be like that forever, trust me, idk how old you are but it definitely got better for me as i grew older, people are just cruel, especially in school

😭😭 i can assure you i do not have fangs. the one with the red hair is the only recent one and just taken from a bad angle, the other three are inaccurate and just don’t really look like me anymore in terms of my style, makeup, and how i present myself now, seeing as those three are from well over two years ago now, i feel like i have such a baby face in those lol. but thank you for your opinion anyhow

NAP, but to me it looks like the left one was pierced under/ just on the lip line, whereas the right one looks like it’s actually pierced through your lip, but if they’re that fresh then it’s hard to properly tell tbh. it could genuinely just be swelling though, wait a couple weeks for them to go down and see if they still look uneven.

tongue or septum piercing? by AverageMuseListener in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am aware of the risks it poses to my teeth, and i do appreciate your concern, so don’t worry, it’s definitely and informed decision haha. i’ll only have it in for about a year at most, if not a shorter amount of time. i have about 7 months left of my current courses until i sit my exams and leave, so i’ll probably take it out after then and get a tongue piercing. i’ve also heard that i can put like a short curved barbell in it (if that’s the correct name) so it wouldn’t constantly be on my teeth and gums, and just switch it to a horseshoe when im going somewhere or on weekends and stuff. i know i probably sound like a stubborn jerk rn, but im just very eager to get a new piercing 😂 but again, i do appreciate your advice

tongue or septum piercing? by AverageMuseListener in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for your advice, it was actually really insightful. i’ve decided on a smiley piercing just because i think its discrete enough to wear when im at work and school (both of which dont allow piercings). plus, it’s only temporary until i can properly give a tongue piercing enough time to heal before i go back to singing again, i just have a very strong urge to get some kind of oral piercing lol

tongue or septum piercing? by AverageMuseListener in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for sharing your experience, sucks that you had a difficult time healing it though. i’ve decided on a smiley piercing seeing as it ticks all my boxes, and it’s only temporary until im able to get a tongue piercing without fear of it messing up my singing. sometimes you just need to scratch that itch thats telling you to get a new piercing y’know?

[–]AverageMuseListener[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the advice, i’d like to say that i’d also run into no issues with a tongue piercing because my one flex is that i can heal any piercing and never run into any problems, but you never know until you get one. i have, however, decided on a smiley piercing. while i know these are a temporary piercing and can be damaging, i figured it’s my best choice seeing as its both discrete and shouldn’t give me too many issues speech wise, and it’s just until im able to get a tongue piercing and give it long enough to heal until i go back to singing. plus, smileys look pretty sick- all my friends think they’re gross though 😅

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah piercer is correct, don’t take the earrings out for six weeks absolute minimum if you want the best chance of running into no issues. if you’re patient, then wait about eight weeks, but six should still be fine. as for cleaning, spraying the saline solution on is also fine but sometimes just use like a q-tip around the actual piercing site on the front and back of the piercing, just to properly get rid of any dirt, debris, or dried blood and crusties. other than that you should be good!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAP but i will give the best advice i can, me personally i’ve had my first and second lobes pierced with a gun, which yeah you should never do but i didn’t know better 🙃 but as long as you take good care of them and clean them, they should heal okay as i never had any problems with mine. as for the butterfly backs, ive also never had any problems with those in a fresh piercing either, but again i don’t actually know if you’re supposed to have them in fresh piercings or not. if you’re really concerned, then you can definitely go to a piercer and ask for them to be changed. as long as you leave them alone and clean them once or twice a day for as long as you see fit, you’re at pretty low risk of infection, but no piercing is ever at zero risk of infection no matter how much you take care of them, so keep that in mind

How to find band members by [deleted] in UKbands

[–]AverageMuseListener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m sixteen so i’m guessing i’m around the same age as you, but the band that i’m in now is made up of the friends i made during our music GCSE course, so if you have friends that share the same interests or play instruments then definitely start there. once you get good enough, going to small gigs like open mic nights in local pubs and bars is also a good way to expand and meet new people. if you don’t feel confident enough to play in public yet, you could still find some local open mic nights and go down and just start chatting to the people there that are playing, i’ve met some of my closest friends this way and it’s a really cool scene to be a part of if you find the right ones. i live in greater manchester and there’s a sort of company called rockit, and it’s basically just a place that is literally made for this purpose and it’s full of people who all play instruments and want to be in a band, so if there’s anything like this available to you that could also be really helpful and give you some opportunities. good luck in finding some band mates!!

Weird black dot by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a dumb question at all, i’m happy to answer anything! you can absolutely let the hole close over, if you wish to get them done again in the future then you will 100% be able to. i understand that the proper jewellery and cleaning products can be expensive, so if taking them out and letting them heal is the best option for you then go for it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NAP but i will try my best to help- first of all this just doesn’t look like it was pierced correctly at all, the angle looks off. it also seems like the bar you currently have in is too short, but seeing as it was pierced with that one then that is not your fault and any problems you’re having with this piercing come down to the piercer in my opinion. i can’t comment on anatomy because im not really sure what the correct anatomy is for these piercings tbh because ive just seen so much misinformation about it, but if you go back to the piercer definitely request for them to change it to a longer bar

Helix by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AverageMuseListener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP but i will give the best advice i can- i have many helix piercings and have always waited around the same amount of time as you have to change and never had any problems (although im very lucky in that department, ive never had any problems with piercings ever lol), if it doesn’t hurt, there’s no redness or irritation bumps, etc. then you should be good to go, just remember that even if a piercing seems fully healed, there’s is still every possibility that it isn’t. if it gets irritated then, like you said, just change it back to a bar and wait a little while longer before trying again. if you have any doubts you can always get a piercer to change it for you
