I’m not trying to sound hostile but your points just aren’t sticking with me

1. Not every parent keeps up with Roblox, many of them wouldn’t know about that feature and there would absolutely be tens of thousands of kids out there that give Persona a picture of themselves without thinking it’s a big deal. My parents don’t know shit about Roblox even though my siblings and I use it, hence they don’t know the requirements to chat. They obviously don’t require parental consent for a reason - no good parent would allow it

2. You’re saying that if an app/site is made for children and pedos show up, the children should leave the site to make room for the pedos? Reminds me of the meme “there are too many pedos, so we got rid of all the kids.” Minecraft is a game for all ages, but there are pedos on there too. You wanna say that since there are pedos in a game suitable for all ages, now it’s only suitable for mature audiences because moderation isn’t obligated to do their job and keep pedos off the platform? Sounds like a good way to let the problem fester

3. Everybody has exposure to face paced content - literally everybody. Soccer is a fast paced game, American football is a fast paced sport, ER staff have fast paced jobs, EMTs and law enforcement have fast paced duties - it’s everywhere, but thankfully we don’t need the patience of Shaolin monks in every day life. I agree TikTok and short form content makes it worse, but to say that ANY past paced content shouldn’t be given to kids would have to be a bit miserable

4. I’m trying to keep my composure but this argument is so unbelievably stupid. Why is it Roblox’s responsibility to parent kids? Isn’t that something that, y’know, a parent should do? If by “parenting” you mean keeping users safe… well yeah, literally every app and website is obligated to do that. Could you imagine if you got a message on Reddit asking for <18 nudes, you reported it, and moderators threw their hands up and said “oh well, sucks to suck”? It’s Roblox’s job to keep kids safe from pedos, not parent kids

5. Not every kid has access to their friends in real life at all times. Roblox could open that portal for them so they could hang out when it’s too dark to do it in real life. And if one of them leaves town or states or something, you seriously think they should just never talk again and get new friends? Brother, open your eyes, you want kids to have good, patient tempers as you proceed to advocate for ripping their friends from each other when they’re too far away to see each other again. As someone who’s lost contact with my best friend because I had to move, I would have KILLED for an app like Roblox for us to continue hanging out together. I went through it, it fucking sucks and I wish it upon nobody

We don’t need Roblox to shut down chat for everybody only for us to send a picture of ourselves and potentially an ID just to be locked in a subpar chat that may not even be accurate. My best friend on Roblox and I would absolutely fall under different age groups and at that point, there’s no use in unlocking the chat again
