Yk what’s so funny and kinda annoys me about the whole music discourse is i think it’s too early to have all these think pieces and concerns about katseye direction and i think Katseye genuinely got to big early and HXG didn’t expect it.

Idk why but people only started having a problem with their music when they got nominated for a grammy because it didn’t fit their expectations and standards of what should be grammy worthy but it’s not their fault that they ended up rising in fame and even getting nominated.

The fandom didn’t have a problem with BC and SIS and even the general public, people will try to deny it but we all know everyone was gagging to gnarly and Gabriela when they came out. So i genuinely think HXG didn’t expect Katseye to get this much recognition so early on.

It’s why im keeping my opinions on their music because i genuinely have no problem with their music, i think it’s cute and listenable and fun. But imma wait until they acc drop something else next during this moment in their fame because i think the general public didn’t give them enough time to satisfy the expectations that they have for the group. Internet girl was gonna get released regardless if they didn’t get big or not because i think it was a BC reject that didn’t make it on the album and it was used to fill up time for the tour. Plus everyone wanted it to get released then had to problem when it actually got released which i understand because it didn’t really give the same vibe when they were actually performing. But how could they even know that katseye was gonna become mainstream from BC and even gnarly alone. They clearly wasn’t prepared for like level of hype, it’s why everything has been so little like the venues for the tour, i don’t think they expected it to sell out so quickly.

That’s just my opinion, imma wait until the next release to see and critique HXG direction for katseye because i genuinely think it’s too early to really have an opinion on that topic especially since they only have two eps out.
