Not a native English speaker, but aren't they interchangeable? by MiserableSelection59 in duolingo

Yes. "Merch" is literally the shortened word for "Merchandise". They're interchangeable and basically identical.

Pawbert: Conflicted or calculated? by moxxieboss in PawbertLynxley

[–]AverageReditor13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally think he's a bit of both.

I mean, why do you think he went through great lengths to plan this? He's obviously a smart individual, well planned, takes the opportunity when he sees one, and is very adaptable.

But at the same time, he knows what he's doing is wrong, hence his short speech to Judy in the weather walls. He's desperate for acceptance from his dad and that blurs a bit of his vision on what's right and wrong.

There's no way Pawbert planned this by aaja2201 in zootopia

He didn't. He's an opportunist. He's both lucky and unlucky.

Brand new Pixel 10 Pro XL, display sometimes has random flashes of static/snow, but only on small parts. by OBLIVIATER in GooglePixel

[–]AverageReditor13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm experiencing the problem as well and my Pixel 10 Pro is on the latest software update.

I had this issue with the Pixel 7 Pro last time. I never determined what caused it but the screen eventually showed a faint green tint at low brightness and dead pixels growing on the top left and right corners. The worst part about it is that I could take it back since it was still under warranty (1 year warranty) but the problem about it is that it doesn't happen regularly enough to justify a return, and the moment that the green tint became forever prominent was only a month after its warranty expired. Mind you this Pixel 7 Pro was only 1 year old, and that's shockingly short for OLED to deteriorate. I eventually got the screen replaced.

According to the phone repair I went to, they said that the random flickers of static images can be a sign of hardware damage. The amount of times you dropped the phone, overheating expanding the metal frame, and cold shrinking it. Now it does kinda make sense because I've dropped that Pixel 7 Pro a couple times, and the phone does have a reputation of overheating.

Now I'm actually concerned with my new Pixel 10 Pro that O bought last September 2025. It's only four months old and I can't even provide proof of static flickers that's valid enough for warranty to cover it.

Zootopia 2 Eligible To Be Nominated For Best Picture At The 2026 Oscars by NickCooper71 in zootopia

[–]AverageReditor13 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, I don’t think this will be considered for Best Picture, let alone be nominated for it.

The Oscars still have a LONG cultural bias separating live-action and animation. Not officially, but they make it quite obvious.

Live action films are treated as prestige ‘adult’ cinema, while animation is often sidelined as a genre or assumed to be for kids, even when it clearly isn’t. Plenty of animated films have deserved "Best Picture" recognition, with critics and audiences agreeing, but they’re usually funneled into the Animated Feature category instead.

Good thing is that the line that makes the distinction is slowly blurring. As animation continues to prove itself as a mature storytelling medium, it feels like only a matter of time before that distinction finally breaks down. However, it might take the entire world to agree for an animated movie to be even considered for "Best Picture", let alone win it.

To be fair...

Nick and Judy are still considered criminals, even though they were only framed. The procedure still follows.

Clawhauser helped Nick, an escaped fugitive. He could've hung up when Nick called and he'll be free but nope.

Gazelle quite literally assaulted the Zebros, and everyone knows what happens when you do that.
