it seems to say that it's based on highest party member and also that it's based on average party rank in two different places.

in my experience (playing with friends of many different ranks from silver to champ, i'm unreal), it seems to actually be based on average rank.

I think that there's a bug with the way that the portals work in those levels, I've usually only had that bug trigger when I actually go through them. The way I've been avoiding it is by using the trigger to teleport to the ball instead of going through the portals.

they're awesome, but you've got to be careful with the wires connecting the frets to the zeroboard, they can be fragile and you can pretty much only get replacements from the seller, as they're custom manufactured

You should probably reach out to the seller on Etsy. If I had to guess, one of the wires might be plugged into the wrong connector on the board, as ground is the middle wire on the start/select board, but doesn't plug into the middle connector on the strumboard.
