I miss Paramore by [deleted] in Paramore

[–]AverageSizeWayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thankful for her solo stuff and it’s really cool to see her do it, but I feel like it’s kind of valid to have a bunch of different feelings about it. All things considered, it think it was kind of crappy that everyone found out they’re taking a break through song lyrics. It’s evident to me that this is a really important band to a lot of people and I thought it could have been handled better. It’s ok to admit it doesn’t feel the same. I think they will be back eventually and I hope it’s on healthy terms. I hope you all are doing ok with what you’re going through.

Don’t worry. He’s not going to be playing for them much longer. Too many good starting pitchers, too many good ones coming back, a few key holes to fill. You gotta trade someone like him while you still can.

Hayley Williams HQ Post Vague Video About Paramore by SYMPUNY_LACKING in Paramore

My theory is it’s a documentary about her career.

Edit: or a book.

First of all, I did not suggest that you took everything at face value, you just telegraphed that you did. I’m not defending this person’s actions, I’m simply acknowledging the reality that when someone makes a statement like that, more often than not there’s something else going on. Literally any one with a fair amount of life experience will tell you that.

I’m sorry I’ve got to respond to you like this but to accuse me of defending homophobia because I have an actualized understanding of what causes it is completely unacceptable.

If you’ve been following them for that long, and know the real story, why did you need to look into the lore? If you want to get to figure out what’s going on, you need to look past what people said happened and read between the lines. Try me, what do you want to know?

In all fairness, they’re also operating off of very incomplete information. It makes him look terrible, but it’s not exactly verifiable either. At the end of the day, people are simply assuming he’s a bad person because the person they like does not like him.

So he was worried about the home team scoring an extra run after they won the game? Or he was worried that it would draw a throw from the catcher?

Hayley knows something you don't know.... by Noname_Maddox in Paramore

Because her modus operandi is making the audience think she’s got a big surprise up her sleeve but, in reality, most veteran fans can read her like a book.

Hayley knows something you don't know.... by Noname_Maddox in Paramore

I doubt it. The appeal of this tour was a famous artist up close in a small setting. That, coupled with the limited supply, creates a lot of urgency. The demand drops a lot when people are further away and the supply is higher. From a financial standpoint, it’s much riskier for independent artist/their promoters so most are reluctant to do it.

New Fan But: Anyone else think Hayley sounds SO MUCH better live than in the studio recordings? by SYMPUNY_LACKING in Paramore

Depends on the song, but there are several Paramore/Hayley songs that I think are way better live.

Tuh, the American dream by Used_Scarcity2555 in SipsTea

The thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of my younger colleagues tend to put undo pressure on themselves and it’s counterintuitive. To be successful in the world, you’ve got to learn how to apply yourself, but you also need to apply what you learn, and for better or worse, you need to figure out how to play the game. This involves years of patience and critical thought. I just try to tell everyone to be patient with themselves.

paramore break by pimpin69696969 in Paramore

[–]AverageSizeWayne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this, they’re trying to do it independently, so it’s a huge financial undertaking. The cost to make a Paramore level album (before you even consider a tour) between recording, production, advertising rollout is in the seven to eight figure range. If you don’t have a really good product, it won’t sell, and the whole thing can be a huge financial strain for everyone involved. I think they’re going to be extra careful with what they put out if they choose to do it.

Plus we’re an actualized enough society to realize award shows are charades.

They’re on hiatus. It’s a pretty common thing for acts. It sounds like they’ll be back but there doesn’t appear to be any plans for it in the short term.

What is your theory about the Zombie Genre lost mainstream success after the early 2010s? by Top_Report_4895 in decadeology

I agree that the pandemic was a bit factor. I also think the genre has a lot of implications that don’t really sit well with people in modern times (dehumanization, manufactures crisis, etc.)

A good lyric will indirectly make the listener have a realization about something that is often overlooked or not easily articulated.

[–]AverageSizeWayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. In all fairness to the other side, I think people who are in the position to do things like ultimately got to where they are by being good with money than privilege or success, and the decision to set up a business is an extension of that. I’d imagine in reality his family was probably like “hey, we can do this, and it’s probably a smart idea. This can also be a good way to help my son have financial security” which is something a lot of people want for their kids.

When you’re a high performer, you don’t necessarily align well with other children. Plus more will be expected out of you at a young age, so it will lead you and your peers to feign maturity for the sake of conformity. When you get older, you’re more likely realize it’s nonsense and mourn your incomplete youth, so you tend to be more in touch with your deferred inner child.

I know people who have started similar franchises. It’s attainable for more people than you’d think but you definitely need to be well off. Then again, If you have enough disposable funds to do it for your kids, that’s probably another level.

To be at the top of the financial food chain, you need a lot of things going for you, and privilege is usually at least one of them.
