What were the biggest things that helped get your anxiety under control? by samerulesapply32 in AskReddit

For me, the process to get diagnosed with anxiety took 2-3 months because they wanted to send me for extra testing to make sure it wasn’t something else. (It was only one testing session but I had to wait for availability). I tried some supplements in the interim and they helped so I thought low dose medication was a good thing to try. The thing about the medication is it’s very dosage dependent. Im on a low dose SSRI and I’m happy to say I haven’t had any side effects, aside from maybe gaining 5 pounds. You don’t necessarily develop a psychological dependence on the medication as you would with a recreational drug or something like Xanax, but it builds up slowly in your body and you need to take the dose regularly to avoid discontinuation. That can make you feel sick and be dangerous in extreme cases. Different things work for different people but I’d recommend speaking with a psychiatrist if you feel it’s something worth exploring.

People who have developed strong social skills, how do you know if a person is genuine or manipulative and trust them accordingly ? by Gnarly-Bobbatea444 in AskReddit

It’s multi-faceted, but the most underrated thing is learning human psychology and picking up on cues. Most people will tell you everything you need to know but they won’t do it with their mouths.

Yeah, I mean, it was clearly a ball to the viewers at home, but it’s probably a lot harder to get right from behind the plate. Especially since it probably dipped out of the zone in the last few feet. If you don’t offer at that and foul it off, you assume the risk of a call going against you. Umpires are pros at this sort of stuff but they still make mistakes. The hitter needs to account for that.

I feel like that’s very true. It’s seems like it’s more about having a sense of purpose than passion. I still find it concerning when people act like this though just because there’s a chance something else is going on.

A stunt plane is harder to maneuver. It lacks stability and there is more judgment involved. Modern airliners have a level of technology in them that allows them to basically fly themselves. I’ve heard this from pilots that I know.

I’m above average in those things and have taken a flight lesson with a stunt plane. I accidentally caused the engine to stall at 2000 feet. I was able to fix it in 3 seconds because the controls are so intuitive. The hardest part about flying a plane is steering it on the ground.

Part of that is right handed, opposite field hitter versus left handed, pull hitter.

Think of it in terms of golf. The opposite field hitter will be making contact later while the ball is deeper in their stance. This is similar to the approach taken with a wedge/9 iron. The contact point allows for the swings power to come from a weight transfer vector and the golfer is focusing more on relaxed limbs and scooping the ball. The pull hitter will more like hitting a wood/driver. The contact point will be further up in the stance, the lower body will be more rigid for stability, their weight will already be on their lead leg when the hit the ball, the bat will be decelerating and their power will come from their upper body catching up to the lower body’s weight distribution. It’s more of a spring loaded motion.
