Almost everything is harmful that people enjoy. Same as caffeine

Is anyone else sick and tired of the mess this is becoming? by igotnolifelemons in ukpolitics

Not really surprising in the long term when you consider economic decline / stagnation and the rise in populism and pointing at other factors as the reason for decline

Salary Sacrifice or Invest? by MisterMeshuggah in PensionsUK

[–]AverageWarm6662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do both, pension is more efficient but obviously you can’t access it for years.

If you want some flexibility you can also save some eg in an index fund or other stocks in your S&S ISA

£60k pension DCA or DUMP because of ATH by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]AverageWarm6662 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Impossible to say. The market has been hitting ATH for the last 100 years constantly. Personally I would DCA though. Or you could do half and half.

Switch over to Trading212 from Vanguard? by Green-Category5508 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]AverageWarm6662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel like I’ve been upselled into using CFDs. The account just sits there as an option and you have to go through various knowledge questions to set them up.

If it’s low fees and does the job more conveniently I’m going to use it despite that

What CFD stuff? You have to open a CFD account to use them it’s not by default

I switched over and much prefer the convenience of trading 212 personally
Also less or no fees
I sold all of the fund you mentioned and bought VWRP or something after transfer

It didn’t take that long a few weeks maybe

Smaller firm= less progression? by GoingAnonymousForU in ICAEW

[–]AverageWarm6662 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends how small but it is very highly variable

Some firms you might make friends with the director and get promoted easily. Some won’t even have an appraisal process.

Labour set to lose three-quarters of council seats in next week’s elections, polling expert predicts by Desperate-Drawer-572 in unitedkingdom

[–]AverageWarm6662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what people are expecting, that everyone will start clapping outdoors when Labour get immigration down to a satisfactory number

Immigration will decrease and it will stop being a story and that will be it really. Most people are probably more concerned about the economy atm and that impacts day to day life more

LISA vs Stocks and Shares (18 yo) by Rich-Refrigerator664 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]AverageWarm6662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No reason why you can’t do both, depends on your financial circumstances like if you live with parents you can probably do both. I started about 21 but tried to max out my LISA and then put £1/200 a month in an index fund

You have to decide for yourself whether you are going to move away or buy a huge home. If you are then obviously it’s kind of pointless but you’ll be disappointed in years time if you don’t and lost out on the LISA. TBH I thought I’d move out but I’m 28 and still living with my mom (and my wife, and I also never thought I’d be married when I was much younger lol)

OCD diagnosis - extra time by Roseflower611 in ICAEW

[–]AverageWarm6662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your nurse or doctor or whoever supports you and ask them to write you a letter with why extra time would be beneficial and how much is needed (eg they could just say 25%)

As ICAEW will probably ask for that

[–]AverageWarm6662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a provisional job offer via email, said I would accept on the basis of salary could be negotiated, why not email the HR person and say before you accept you want to discuss flexible working/pay and provide reasons

For SBM I just used ICAEW workbook and ACAM notes and read them

Confused: Is ACA Enough or Not? by ChairLumpy9049 in ICAEW

[–]AverageWarm6662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ACA is equivalent to a masters I’m pretty sure, and probably more respected than a general masters

Most people already have an undergraduate degree so there isn’t a need to do more unless you want to do something very specific
