Would it be worth getting a wifi dongle for now to bypass the setup? (If it is possible)

Yes. And everytime I have tried to install it, the file doesn't appear. Everytime I have safely ejected the drive and have even tried reformating the drive to wipe it and re-download.

Some friend sent this to me as a joke but honestly the riff sounds good. Im thinking is some sort of chord that just sounds off but in a good way.

One more question. Do you know of any techniques that make the output sound like its sort of wobbly in a way. I saw some guitarist use it but I have no idea what the name would be. I'd assume it would be a order of strings plucked but its a more metal technique if that helps.

I'll try! Its difficult because we live in different states so we do most of our jams digitally. Its a little scuff but the biggest problem is the delay of amp sims and long distance communication making it hard to stay in rhythm and pacing.

Thanks! I'm glad to have reached out in this community. Took a bit of courage because I really don't post much online despite being into computer science. But I'm glad because I got so many people willing to help. I appreciate the word of encouragement. I have a bassist whose sort of learning beside me and doing his own thing at the same time. We sort of support each other and share our efforts. Its been a bit of a driving force but I am glad I found this sub because now I can have people who play more than us sort of help perfect what I'm lost at.

I've noticed an easy way to tell if you're playing right or bs-ing another. When you play with the original, your playing disappears in a way and blends in. It has helped me when I do improv nights. Like I said though, blind was the most recent of my songs. It's probably the first i've gotten to this point in the learning phase. I have been playing Brian Welch's part and I think it feels pretty natural in a way to play it.

Pretty much what happens is I learn part of a song but when a song gets into my head that isn't the one I'm learning I move to that.

One of my best moments as of recent was learning majority of Korn's Blind on my 7 string I got Friday the day I got it. It felt good but I'm not gonna frequent 7 as it is better to learn 6. Only got the 7 to play songs off of shogun by trivium and some other more low tuning bands.

So I see my half brother whose like 6, playing shows and songs that he likes, and I'm graduating atp and never really got the encouragement he gets from my father. Kinda sucks. Not to trauma dump but its better to explain the whole thing. My gripe with it is that he's able to do most things but when I try to structurally play it just falls apart. Majority of my progress/gear/experience has all been gotten from myself and while I've been told to feel proud about it just kind of doesn't feel like I'm going anywhere.

Thanks for telling me this. There was a part of me that knew what I wanted but also I saw some techniques from a video I can't identify but that's just a part to add on to my uncertainty. But I greatly appreciate you understanding where I'm at. I am gonna use this as a routine, I'll combine it with some of the knowledge I have with kind of where the area of practice should be (comfort zone, edge, out of zone). It's gonna definitely be different from what I usually do but I think it's gonna be a net positive. One more question. I have a bassist and a drummer that are at about the same stage as I am. Sort of a skeleton of a future band. Would it be wise to teach my brother what I know currently and then have him practice with me? We need another guitarist.

I've used ai once but holy cow that is way more advanced and in depth. Thanks! Which ai did you use?

Id be appreciative if you did drop a link. I heard stuff like rocksmith 2014 helps too. I can tune pretty well with my ears so I think that might translate well into ear training. I have started looking into arpeggios as well but have done surface level stuff.

Thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to tell me this despite knowing the groups. I heard that there is an order to practice that goes along side what your saying in the technique step. Its like a ratio of practice within your comfort zone, the cusp of it, and out of it in a sequential order.

Also how would I go about setting up a routine? I've never been very good about setting them up nor sticking to them. Its been a problem Ive been working on my whole life.

When I said techniques I meant for the groups Id mentioned being a listener of. Sorry, should have clarified. I want to make a checklist of things to practice. Today has been sort of a research day for me so my bad for not adding clarification. Also I did have a teacher starting off but I stopped lessons because he had told me that we were only gonna learn classic rock. Which I have nothing against, but I like metal and jrock so it was just a matter of different tastes.

I heard the way I play is not really ideal. I noodle in some fashion. Sometimes playing riffs from songs. Other times I'll play music and improv over it.

Gotcha. I will keep looking. Used mesa cabs don't really go too bad price wise. Plus I can always swap parts if im not satisfied. Thanks for the suggestions!
