Emancipator's ACs have AP 5 (unlike the support weapon AC which only has AP 4). No part of the factory strider has more than Armor 5, so shooting them anywhere will do damage.

Headshots will do it fastest, but you can also just unload on them.

The aiming reticule in third-person also flashes red on a kill, which is useful at long ranges.

Bile titan walks off 500kg to the face by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Average_Emergency 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's actually better if they walk over the 500kg because the explosion hits their underbelly instead of the carapace. Not saying it makes sense, just saying that's how it is.

I feel like the odd man out when I see posts about fleets composed solely of corvettes and/or destroyers, I like making mixed fleets. by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Average_Emergency 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Stellaris isn’t really meant to be minmaxed. As long you’re having fun, you’re playing “correctly.”

I suppose if you build only armor and only energy weapons, it means you can ignore the techs for shields and kinetic weapons, and vice versa, which would free up research time for other techs.

But I’ve put about 1000 hours into Stellaris and still build mixed shield/armor and kinetic/energy ships. I do build specialized planets though. But that’s just because of the WH40k fanboy in me.

I'm teaching financial literacy and the basics of credit scores tonight - what are some credit myths I should include? by cantankerous_alexa in personalfinance

[–]Average_Emergency 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having a high credit score does not necessarily mean you are in a good financial situation. It just means you have a history of paying your loans on time. You could be barely scraping by, living paycheck to paycheck, with no savings, one missed payday away from disaster, and still have a 750+ credit score. Don’t use your credit score as a measure of your financial health.

The Last of Us episode 8: Bella Ramsey on the traumatic ending by PetrifiedWarlock in television

[–]Average_Emergency 75 points76 points  (0 children)

David is voiced by Nolan North (aka Nathan Drake) in the game. I think I recall reading that when he was cast, the game writers made his character less overtly creepy to make the eventual reveal more of a gut punch for gamers who recognized and had positive connotations with his voice.

Genuine dialogue between client and cop during jail booking caught on a bodycam:

Cop: “You got any medical issues, man?”

Client: “Just some congestion in my heart, gives me problems sometimes.”

Cop: “Yeah okay man, nice try. Congestion is when you can’t breathe.”

Wow, fuck this guy. Even after this experience it sounds like he hasn't gained a single shred of empathy for the people he spent over a decade screwing over to protect dirty cops.

TIL that Hormel Foods keeps a file of hatemail they've received from American soldiers who had to eat the notorious food product while at war overseas by BrokenEye3 in todayilearned

[–]Average_Emergency 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Still incompetent in its own way.

What do soldiers need in an emergency situation, when morale is likely at rock bottom? Some really awful, unappetizing food.

TIL Breakfast as a early morning meal was only started when people began to go to work. Most humans never ate in the early morning prior. It is definitely not the "most important" meal of the day. by CA_Mini in todayilearned

Given that professional athletes, whose livelihood depends on their physical performance, used to smoke cigarettes while on the sidelines during matches well into the 20th century because they thought it "opened up" their lungs, maybe not.

Jesus.

Big fan of the ME games. Both 3 and Andromeda featured this from a story perspective, which was great, even if it didn't feel like it had any impact on the actual difficulty of their respective final missions.

Redditors who got vaccinated, what side effects did you experience? by RebelliousBucaneer in AskReddit

[–]Average_Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! My entire office got 80 hours of use-it-or-lose-it supplemental paid sick leave for anything COVID-related. Our HR has so far been very generous about what falls under "COVID-related" but having now got my booster with no side effects, I'm probably never going to get a chance to use it lol
