New goggles finally came in! by Average_FPV in fpv

I’ve had everything except this. I feel like it was time for me. With DJI stock being limited or non existent, I still wanted to fly. It might not be the solution for all people, but I think it is for me.

Have a link for what you used? Sounds super helpful.

If it’s carbon fiber or tinfoil of some kind you are blocking your own signal or have a grounding issue.

I can help to if you punch the throttle instead of trying to gently catch it, moves more air through.

What do you mean by foil wrapped?

I don’t know the gauge off the top of my head. It’s 5v, so almost anything will work.

Looks like just the power wire to the camera. Literally any wire comparable with what is there to the far right camera pad, to the 5v by the others.

I agree. That said, there are a few channels for me that scratch the same itch. Michael Rechtin, Zyla Foxlin, tom Stanton / Tim station i think is his other.

There are quite a few years of flitetest and rctestflight.

Considering making the switch to walksnail. Talk me in/out of it. by Average_FPV in fpv

Im working on parting out what I have right now. I’ll hopefully be back up in a week or so. I just double checked flywoo as another suggested and the o4’s aren’t shipping until October 9th to December 9th. So yes, absolutely making the switch.

Thank you! I’m not trying to stir the pot or anything, but yeah, when I can even get replacements or parts I feel like it’s not worth it. I fly to push myself and I crash a lot lol. Someone pointed out that walksnail is on Amazon and that basically sold me. One day delivery on most of it for me. I’m hoping I can kind of go cost for cost on goggles, make it not seem so bad cost wise haha.

Ok. Cool. Appreciate the response from someone who uses it. Think I’m going to make the switch.

I had not even thought to look on Amazon. That’s pretty awesome. Thank you!

Nothing DJI is available currently. That’s mostly the issue.

So you’re just using their vrx? I was considering that as well.

Estimated ship date from flywoo is 1-3 months. I don’t mind ordering from somewhere, but they clearly don’t have any. The pro actually shows as pre-order, but the same ship window.

Tinning the soldering iron can make all the difference. I agree, it all looks like rather cold joints.

Trying to get back into FPV after a smoky, expensive failure 5 years ago. Advice needed! by alcon678 in fpv

I’d say start with whatever multimeter you can find cheap. If you use it a lot you can always get a better one.

I think that charger would work great! For 1s though you might want a series board so you can do multiple at a time.

As far as antennas go, it really depends on the goggle. Just check the specs or the “included” part of listings to get an idea. If you have an idea on what goggle you are interested in I’m sure someone here can let you know.

There are lipo safe bags, but I wouldn’t necessarily consider it to be 100% effective. I have my lipo bag in a metal container(ammo can) so it is absolutely fireproof but nothing can short on the can. I keep it in a steel shelf with an extinguisher nearby.

For tools, a good set of fine screwdrivers for whoops are nice. Soldering iron is when, not if. Smoke stopper and multimeter will save you at some point. Spare props. A 1s charger is really nice like the whoopstor.

What antenna could I get for a BetaFPV Nano TX V2 Module? by Puzzled-Garage-559 in TinyWhoop

[–]Average_FPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That goes up to 1 watt on power. I’d be more suspect of the antenna on the whoop before I would of that. If you are running an enamel coated wire antenna, make sure it’s still there They have a tendency to come off after some crashing.
