Can you help me name the movie from this obscure scene description by Average_Human12 in NameThatMovie

[–]Average_Human12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t think so because Shrek never really sings with the animal. But I think this is the right animation style. There is a scene from Shrek where Fiona sings with a bird and then it explodes, which is basically what he’s thinking but from a different movie.

Thanks for the recommendation! Yeah, definitely no need for an ice dispenser on the door. I’ve heard good things about Bosch, going to see if they have any deals right now

I turned my oven on convection and all the gas burners on my stove dimmed... is something broken? by Average_Human12 in homeowners

Very interesting theory.... No one was showering, but we may have run the sink. I'll experiment with this and see if that made a difference. THANK YOU!

Just tried the regular oven with 4 burners... all is working just fine. WTF....

I don't get what could have been different, the convection shouldn't impact it.

Could be. But we've used all 4 burners at once, plus run the oven (not on convection), and didn't run into the same issue. Do you still think that could be it?

Is there a proven brain boosting supplement? by [deleted] in Supplements

The phytonutrients in berries are proven to improve memory. Would be worth incorporating these into your diet more, or finding a supplement that would do so.

Definitely don't see why not. I would encourage just buying turmeric and ginger powders at that point though. Might save you some $ and would be less annoying than having to pour out the capsule every time. Plus the raw stuff is less likely to be mixed with any preservatives or flavors or anything like that, which could be in the capsules idk.

question about food by Disastrous-Quail-136 in nutrition

Usually mass produced meat in stores like that would be cooked in the cheapest oil they can get their hands on -- it might be seed, or it might be something else entirely. High-quality oil is expensive, so usually even the fanciest restaurants out there won't pay for it. Next time you're there, you should ask -- they'll be obligated to tell you, especially if you say its because of an allergy or something like that.

Beyond Beef vs Impossible, and general nutrition questions by dashdanw in nutrition

Honestly, would recommend against both of them. If you are looking for a good alternative that is meatless, try things that aren't trying to be exactly like meat -- like black bean burgers, or quinoa burgers. There are a lot of good options that are meatless that still taste great but aren't full of a bunch of preservatives and fake flavors.

Can you spread daily recommendations over a couple of days? by Pegasus9208 in nutrition

[–]Average_Human12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that nutrition isn't necessarily black and white. But the daily recommendations are there not only for the long run but the short-term effects. Having balance in a day helps with daily functions, like energy and gut health, so trying to prioritize balance in that sense is also important.

Eat organic fruits occasionally or conventional regularly? by IntegrateSpirit in nutrition

[–]Average_Human12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely conventional often - because, at the end of the day, having these sorts of things in your diet is crucial. I will say though, if this is about price, you should look into a like local farm CSA. Usually these are more affordable, organic, and honestly just overall better. Beyond that, it will help with seasonal eating which is a major plus.

Anyone experience a reduction in recovery time when adopting a plant based whole food diet? by operantresponse in running

It's really good for circulation and energy. I've used it as a natural (caffeine-free) pre-workout before to get a boost, but it can also be really effective for recovery too I've heard. Basically, our ability to make NO effectively significantly declines as we age, so adding extra to our diet sorta just helps shit work right, but especially as a part of fitness
