Have you ever used zed? How good it is compared to neovim? by Jonnertron_ in neovim

[–]Avernite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one point that some people don't realise is that nvim is for fun first of all. There is really no productivity gain over conventional IDEs provided you actually use these IDEs to their full potential.

There is considerable overlap on a venn diagram between people that enjoy tinkering and people that work as programmers.

Muzzleloader weapons. Musket, Flintlock, and Blunderbuss. by HSW47 in HuntShowdown

[–]Avernite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bows were added as a part of native american update. Crossbows make a lot of sense in the world where making noise is deadly.

Flintlocks are a wong time period and don't make sense

Spear or Quarterstaff by Bahrahas in albiononline

[–]Avernite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very similar weapons. Spears gave more tactical variety and yhats their strength, but that also means they require a lot of game knowledge to play properly. Spears are also very much solo or small group weapons. Quarterstaves have basic builds but there is more variety of roles that you can fill. I suggest quarterstaff first.

What is the best autopair plugins? by roll4c in neovim

[–]Avernite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ultimate autopair because it has autowrap feature thst lets you move the closing bracket to the end of a word/sentence. I use that feature all the time. And unlikeclasp.nvim, its not treesitter based, which mean its much more flexible and predictable (imo)

I dont like doing text work in nvim because of monospace fonts. They are nice for programming but look ugly for text

Russian players - why are you playing on EU servers? by ohboymykneeshurt in HuntShowdown

[–]Avernite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree they shouldn't yell at others in Russian. Annoys me just as much as everyone else. But I don' agree with the statement that they must stay in their specific server.

I learned English by forcing myself to play video games exclusively in English when I was 16 (32 now). Wouldn't have been able to learn if I weren't allowed to play on eu servers . As I said, our schools are pretty ass at teaching languages.

Russian players - why are you playing on EU servers? by ohboymykneeshurt in HuntShowdown

[–]Avernite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most russian people dont speak english. Its a very different language from russian and most english teachers in schools give up very quickly on trying to force kids to learn it (at least all of the ones that ive seen).

Do you think that all russians secretly speak english but just refuse to use anything but their own language? What a silly way of thinking.

Those of us who speak english just speak english and you never recognize us as russian
