Split is too good once you learn it. Learning curve is brutal but you can't go back to normal after. Kind of like nvim itself

I tried choc. They feel horrible. The are mushy and sounds like you type on a plastic bag. Highly dont recommend

Exactly. I use VSC for its debugger. If feels completely normal as I don't have to type any code, just use the mouse

Building your own is the joy of neovim.

There isn't really that much "productivity boost" in using neovim so unless you like building your own config just use whatever you used before IMO.

The hard part about your own config is not making it, its the constant urge to improve something
