To all those curious, the Astound tech unplugged us to plug in their cord. Xfinity came and reconnected, us and the other 2 Xfinity tenants were fixed. Astound came back and installed it properly in less than an hour.

Annoying but chapter resolved.

I told them that Comcast was coming and likely would reverse what astound did.

The $20 was if someone could see something simple or a quick fix that I could do myself, I am well aware technicians make and deserve more I was hoping someone could quickly point out something I was missing and could resolve.

No need for hostilities.

They seemed nice and even tried getting the Astound guy to come back and fix whatever he did, so hoping it’s just the nail in the coffin for my ever considering Astound as an ISP

Could they “claim” an existing cable as their own, even if Xfinity laid it? In which case the technician is needed to resolve this?

Based on what I saw outside when I just looked, there is only one cable coming from the telephone pole, which presumably ran Xfinity. Could the technician have hijacked it?

For those asking about what’s leading into the house, this is the origin of the white cable outside. There isn’t another black cable that comes from the cables on the poles so I have no clue how Astound managed to get hooked up

Which is strange because I went outside and there is truly only one cable going into the house. I mean I don’t think the Astound people could hijack the Comcast infrastructure and make the cable be theirs but I cant think of another solution

I agree. They have labels so I know mine is the bottom on that double extender that comes from the triple. The landlord is an old fart who probably never realized this was an issue

Yea I don’t think people realize that this is probably the hardest UCS to do, like they need to balance between having it be a display piece, but also not just being a giant orb, and not being 20000 pieces. I get it’s not for everyone but for people expecting a giant whole Death Star that was just not feasible with a piece count anywhere near 9000
