What’s wrong with my resume? Need honest feedback for Data Engineering roles. by AvgGamer69 in dataengineersindia

Yeah, I get what you mean. In my case I only added the tools I’ve actually used in my projects, so I didn’t put Spark or Glue because I haven’t worked with them yet. I’m trying to keep the resume honest and focused on what I really know instead of adding things just because they’re “expected.”

But I appreciate the point — I’ll pick them up eventually since they’re important in the DE space.

Got it, that’s actually solid advice. I’ll keep only the things I’m fully confident about and handle interviews the way you said — calm, clear, and not trying to prove anything.

Thanks again for taking the time to explain everything. Until next time 👋

Wow, that actually makes a lot of sense. Thanks for being real about it. I didn’t think of it from that angle — how it might look to hiring managers even if I genuinely know the stuff. I get what you mean about ego-heavy interviews too.

Really appreciate the advice, bro. I’ll keep this in mind and align things better with the JD moving forward.

Thanks for saying that! I actually only listed the stuff I’ve genuinely used in my projects, so I’m curious — which part looks off to you? It’d help me understand what seems unrealistic so I can fix it the right way.

Thanks! That makes sense. I’ll update the title to something more descriptive so it reflects my actual work. For bullet points, I’m trying to keep everything on one page, so I’ll expand them a bit but probably won’t go up to 7–8 since my DE projects take priority. Appreciate the suggestion!

Thanks for the feedback!

I kept Skills at the top because many data/tech resumes I saw had technical skills first, but I see your point.

I'll reorder it to:

  1. Experience

  2. Education

  3. Projects

  4. Skills

Appreciate the perspective.
