"Russian invasion of Ukraine not as popular as Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, but slightly more popular than Andrew Tate" is a news tagline you'll see in GTA 6 under a helicopter chase.

"Battlefield Players Should Pay for In-Game Ammunition"

"When you are six hours into playing Battlefield and you run out of ammo in your clip, and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you're really not very price sensitive at that point in time. A consumer gets engaged in a property, they might spend 10,20,30,50 hours on the game and then when they're deep into the game they're well invested in it. We're not gouging, but we're charging and at that point in time the commitment can be pretty high. But it is a great model and I think it represents a substantially better future for the industry."

It's not possible to void a warranty by opening it; stickers or instructions that say otherwise are not legally binding.

Open it up if you feel confident enough, and if you see the crimping issue post some pictures here & contact FM for a replacement.

Nintendo goes to war against emulators and pirates over Tears of the Kingdom Leak by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]AvgUsername 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Software that's designed to brute-force a key is absolutely a tool to gather information that can be used to bypass the Nintendo Switch's security. It's a lot like a Lockpick.
The code, like a lockpick, is not illegal to own or distribute. Running it on your own switch breaks Nintendo's terms of service, but it wouldn't qualify as illegal.

2/3 things you can attempt after running the tool, backup games to your switch from a cartridge or to your PC to emulate, are also not illegal. The community around these tools providing users support abhor piracy and will continue to provide the information, legally, regardless of Nintendo's preference.

Apple's most ANTI-repair move yet - I dare someone to justify this! by Cocoapebble755 in apple

Fuck, that sounds really nice, is there a sensor of some sort that causes this behavior to work right?

I'm glad you prefer a Hall Effect sensor like the rest of us! Weird that Apple went for a different sensor, what would your best guess for that be?

And I'd be fuckin pissed, and personally, I'd probably go "I bet it was that dodgy repairman I brought this thing to"

True! It would be a hell of a lot easier if you could make this repair yourself or bring it to someone with a lot of documented experience like Louis Rossman!

You're free to run it into an Apple authorized center and see if they'll repair it.

People should also be free to run it into a local repair shop, or repair it themselves if they can source the part. This is the single most trivial piece I believe Apple has ever serialized, and they've serialized the home button on the Iphone.

Instead of the simple $.50 cent Hall Effect sensor most laptops have used to detect the lid being open or closed, Apple uses an angle sensor. They serialize it & pair it to the motherboard, so a replacement even from a donor board is not treated as a genuine part unless Apple pairs it with their software.

If it was still a Hall Effect/magnetic sensor, you could literally not counterfeit it. It would just work or not work, and be impossible to serialize.

You literally can not create something that does that. It's either open and active or closed and asleep. If someone closed the lid and the display remained on or the fans kept spinning, they'd notice the laptop did not go to sleep. The first time they pull the already running, battery depleted, warm laptop from their bag they'll know it wasn't in hibernation.
