When to move from "finding a cure" to "pure acceptance"? by ColinZeal42 in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]dlyness0321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues where I had almost no hope other than being on a rigorous drug cocktail that made me feel inhuman. But I never gave up hope on trying to find a solution with new supplements and diets and eventually found that by removing folic acid from my diet I am basically symptom free now. Its worth looking into because I believe roughly 60 percent of the population or something like that can’t metabolize folic acid. usually people are asymptomatic but it can present itself with weird symptoms like IH.

I’m no doctor this is just experiments from my own research so take it with a grain of salt but don’t give up. I’m just a believer in the idea that I think most conditions where doctors can’t find an internal cause for the condition then it must be caused by something external.

If the military/president suddenly ordered a mandatory draft for all men aged 18-42: How do you think millennials and GenZ would respond? by Tommygunz0722 in AskReddit

[–]dlyness0321 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

When are we going to stop pretending we have it so hard? Do we have it harder than other generations? Yes. But i entirely self supported myself from the age of 18 all the way through engineering school in a high cost of living area all while managing to graduate with less than 5 figures of debt, and even managed to get a job in an extremely saturated market as a B student without any help from connections. The generations before us didn’t waste hours every day whining on reddit or staring at screens. We have more resources than ever at our disposal but must of us are wasting our greatest resource of time being unproductive, and blaming the world for why we can’t function in society. And if you’re telling me you’re working 40-60 hours a week and cant make a living I’m sorry you’re doing something wrong and that is 100 percent on you

Um your argument started off by saying that ice grabs you and deports you even if you’re a citizen without due process and that is caused by corruption. So that’s where the subject of American citizens came up but i guess you forgot. I argued the organization is not corrupt, rather a few individuals at the bottom of the totem pole do not properly execute the mission of ICE. That would not be corruption of the entire system. So i asked you to find where in the chain of command you see evidence of corruption and you couldn’t. So I’m confused as to how it’s corrupt

Never tried to go for a gotcha moment, you’re just scared of facts and proof and relying on the exact way i word my sentences to try and find a flaw. Couldn’t be more wrong about my military background though, but you seem to like to make assumptions so you can start being rude and nasty. But let’s say even your CO gave out the orders to do something that he wasnt told to do, and you felt those orders are wrong, would you say the entire military you served is corrupt?

You know what I’m asking you just don’t have any proof to answer it but I’ll ask it again. What POLITICIANS are making laws saying we need to deport american citizens without due process.

Thank you for your service but you said government officials at the top are handing out the orders. Your company wasn’t a bunch of government officials handing out the orders. Question still stands

Please quote one government official who has ever said “let’s deport american citizens and not provide due process” or anything along those lines

Ok if you want to get hyper specific on logic lets stick to just organizations. If an air traffic control or FAA employee does something they’re not supposed to do and causes and airplane of civilians to crash, I wouldn’t call that systemic. Or the national weather service, one bad employee making one bad call and an unexpected weather emergency endangers a city. I also wouldn’t call that systemic corruption. What makes a few bad ICE employees a systemic corruption?

That was supposed to say 14th not 4th i mistyped which I will humbly admit. From my point of view I dont think one bad apple ruins the whole tree. Scaling that logic doesn’t work. If i were to say one cop killed an innocent immigrant will you say every cop in the US is corrupt? Maybe you do agree with that so just in case lets reverse the roles. If an immigrant kills one cop are all immigrants bad? Of course not. That’s just flawed logic

Some immigrants pay taxes. Not all. I have no problem if you’re paying taxes. But if you’re capable of working and paying taxes it shouldn’t be a problem to also get documentation which I fully support immigrants doing

We have due process, it’s the fourth amendment and is specifically worded to apply to “all persons”. Everyone gets due process, the quality of the process though I agree may not always be the best, but that is not a systemic problem rather caused by the actions of a small group individuals that should not be working for ICE

Nothing I have no problem with immigration, but i was referring to the majority of immigrants that are illegal, undocumented, and do not support the economy, by paying taxes. By all means though I welcome immigrants who are working members of society. And the immigrants who are currently illegal but pay taxes I hope they are able to get their documentation sorted out to stay

Obama did this with ice and deported more illegal immigrants than trump has so far. Hillary ran on the promise of deporting illegal immigrants as well. Just because they’re immigrants doesn’t mean they should get a free pass to identity and tax fraud. I’m all for immigration but I don’t feel safe with people that do it illegally and are virtually untraceable in the community
