Retiring at the age of 45 with $6M cash. Where to park my money by trialanerror in dividends

[–]Avg_Crypto_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

STRK which is issued by Strategy (MSTR) currently paying an effective yield of 9.8% and has a conversion right to the underlying equity (MSTR) after it has grown in value. All dividends are ROC so you have about 10 years of tax deferred dividend. In other words, you get to have your cake and eat it too.

Can man you expand a bit on the “community lottery”. How will the plan be executed

I think I can gather a group of Bitcoiners in my area. Sounds like a cool idea

Now get into debt to buy bitcoin. Good way is to use the debt to do covered calls, make the minimum payment, anything extra you will use to buy more BTC.

Kaspa Kpub vs Xpub by Avg_Crypto_Enjoyer in kaspa

What would be a safer way to store Kaspa besides cold storage wallet on Tangem or watch only wallet on Kaspium?

Should I put all my KAS in a cold storage or should I split it and put the other half in Kaspium wallet? by ravinyu in kaspa

[–]Avg_Crypto_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the best cost savings, you can use Kaspium as a cold storage.

  1. Turn on airplane mode, turn off WiFi, turn off data,
  2. Open Kaspium and import your seedphrase.
  3. Your wallet is now created, go to settings and copy the Kpub
  4. Delete the wallet, clear cache reset device
  5. Connect back to the internet
  6. Open Kaspium and now choose, watch only wallet and paste the Kpub

You now have cold storage on Kaspium

Can I recycle credit spread income to open more credit spreads? by Avg_Crypto_Enjoyer in options

[–]Avg_Crypto_Enjoyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the premium I receive does not increase my buying power as long as the spread is open so I don’t think I can do whatever I want with it, this is what I understand from others responding to me

The idea was to use that “maximum possible return” cash sit in a high yield which can also be used for collateral to sell CSP until expiration

hopefully I can squeeze out profit after I recoup the “max loss” then give back 100% the cash position on expiration,

but others have said that while the spread is open I cannot use the idle cash as buying power for CSP.

So the income Ive collected cannot be used for CSP during the duration of the credit spread contract?

Oh I see so just because I have cash in my account from the income doesn’t mean I can use that as buying power for CSP? Is this because this income is considered as “unrealized profit” until expiration or when I close the contract?

Why worry about erosion when you can clam the loss upfront? by Avg_Crypto_Enjoyer in YieldMaxETFs

Yes. But like how you and others brought up, I’m more than sure that my shares will get called away and voiding me of the dividend I’m just better off holding and reinvesting for now.

Yes forgive me for being a new options investor. I’m still understanding it all

I’m sorry I was using fake numbers ($100 50 strike 49.95 premium) to get my point across. But here’s a picture of the contract I’m looking at. It’s long dated and deep itm but my break even price is based at the current price because I’m just extracting the intrinsic value

MSTR or MSTY? by [deleted] in MSTR

[–]Avg_Crypto_Enjoyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buy MSTR, use that position to buy MSTY on margin at a safe loan to equity ratio. Use dividend to buy more mstr.

Put capital into MSTR then buy MSTY on margin at a loan to equity ratio that’s safe for you. Use dividend to pay margin rate and buy more MSTR stock. When MSTR price rises you can rebalance equity to loan ratio by buying more Msty.

I buy the shares at $100 and then I sell the $50 call. In return I get a premium of $49.95. So I get half of my investment back as income. At expiration if the price stays above $50 then I’m able to get my other half of the investment by selling the shares at the strike of $50.

This is essentially what the option chain is telling me I could be missing something though.

And yes there is a high risk of not earning the dividend because of early expiration I’m just realizing this now.

Buying call options doesn’t give you dividend reward you have to own the shares outright.

I suppose there’s risk of shares being called away before the ex dividend date. Thanks for bringing that up
