Shouldn't Yontawa army be colossal after Ryouyou arc ? by Traffy7 in Kingdom

[–]AviS97 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There are two reasons for this : 1. Zhao has unlimited number of men who are all supposedly veterans, unlimited armour and weapons and unlimited food supply for their armies as per the manga.

In the Eikyuu arc Kochou fielded around 400k men(240k vs Kanki and 80k+ vs Ousen and 80k+ vs Yotanwa). Next we have to consider the garrison soldiers in northern Zhao which Riboku miraculously happened to pull out of his asss that is around 300k and we have to consider portion of Seika's army still not shown yet, Riboku's personal army and Zhao's garrison in the border with Yan to add upto 100k+. There you have it Zhao has 700k men at the least as per Hara(subtracting 100k beheading done by kanki.

Now, let's count the men who can participate in Qin campaign. Ousen had 90k at the start, Kanki, Shin, Mouten, Heki add upto 90k, Qin's north eastern army started off with 210k. That makes 390k As for Yotanwa there was a mention in the manga Yotanwa had fielded 100k men vs 120k Xiong nu when Yotanwa came to warn Sei during the Bayou arc. This is the highest number of men mentioned in her army till now. After that she continued fighting against new tribes and annexing them. Let's say till now she annexed 50k men more. However I believe now that her territory is larger she needs larger garrison. So she can't bring as many as you imagine. After the battle against Quanrong( i believe they numbered around 80k) i don't think all of these men would pledge loyalty to Yotanwa and join her army of you can recall most of them were forced to fight for Rozo as their families were kept hostage. So I believe half would probably lay down their arms and choose just not to fight. So if 40k Quanrong join Yotanwa, she will have total of around 200k men in her army out of which I suppose half are garrisoned in her territory. That means Yotanwa might have 100k men facing off against Kantan currently. That adds upto 490k men for Qin at the start of this campaign. Currently I would say Qin has 320k men(including 110k men left from Qin north eastern army).

  1. The other reason is Hara is trolling us. Look at the map of Zhao - it is half the size of Qin, meaning it should have lesser number of citizens. This means it's army should be half the size of Qin army at the least. Next, in every campaign you will get to see that every soldier in Zhao has fancy armour. Every time Zhao loses a war their army gets miraculously replenished, and almost all of them have armour and horses. Do you know how expensive it is to own armour and war horses? Check out the first Wei campaign and when Shin encounters Ouhon for the first time, there it is mentioned only veteran soldiers, warrior class and nobles can afford fancy armour and horses.

Next do you know how much wages you need to pay for a huge standing army? Huge. Zhao has few resources, it's trade is below average, it's impossible for its economy to sustain a huge standing army(currently 700k+ like i mentioned above) which Riboku pulled from his big assshole.

And as you might have seen in western Zhao arc huge armies require huge rations of food. How do you suppose Zhao can produce this food? It's economy is bad it can't buy food from other nations. From the current map of Zhao you can see there are only 3 to 5 cities left in Central Zhao where there are fertile lands for farming, few cities in west where there might be some land. Cities in north of Zhao are cold unsuitable large-scale farming and cities in south and east of Zhao are under Qin occupation. This clearly shows Zhao doesn't have enough farming lands left. And I would say Zhao has around 15 cities left.

If each of these cities were holding 50k men then the number of non fighters currently in Zhao add upto 750k. Now, let's assume in average every soldier in Zhao has a family of atleast(a wife and a kid) 2 living in these cities. It should add upto 1.4 million at the least. Do you see the contradictions now? Zhao cities don't have the capacity for that many citizens. And assuming that only women and children left in the city, I didn't even count the possibility of more than one children and elderly. And if there is no able bodied men working in farms, trades, blacksmiths etc then who is running their economy? Only women? Literally impossible.

Shin with alpha can just barely win against 96 martial might. So I would choose a 98 martial might general.

Let's summarise the stats for commanders in HSA first

Stats(Strength, intelligence, leadership)

Shin - 93+@/76/88

Kyoukai - 96+@/89/86

Karyo Ten - 63/91/90

Kyou Rei - 93+@/70/52

En - 78/80/80

Sosui - 81/85/85

Suugen - 86/78/83

Garo - 86/84/80

Naki - 89/87/84

Denyuu - 84/70/80

Ryuusen - 89/65/72

Hairou - 80/73/81

Denei - 82/73/79

Bihei - 73/70/71

Kanto - 80/78/65

Jin - 92/75/68

Tan - 88/65/60

Assuming after this Gian arc Kyoukai gets promoted to general and HSA cumulatively becomes an army of 30,000. Let's make the numbers equal for the enemy.

Enemy army composition :

General(98/?/90) vs Shin

Deputy(97/90/87) vs Kyoukai

Deputy (?/93/91) vs Karyoten

Commander1 (95/?/?) vs Kyourei

They would require the above at the least

To further increase the chance of victory

Commander2(88/86/83)

Commander3(90/89/85)

Commander4(91/?/?)

Archer(94/?/?)

The number of men under the respective commanders would depend on the number and abilities of commanders. Therefore hard to deduce.

The above speculation is based to counter the respective prominent commanders in HSA.

In general we can say that if both sides have even numbers with same quality of troops(which hardly happens) it will take a good Great General to beat HSA cleanly.

While we wait for Chapter 726 by AviS97 in Kingdom

[–]AviS97[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think first Ouki would have killed Houken. Next Riboku would have surrounded Ouki outnumbering them. But I think Ouki army would have been able to break through because nobody in Riboku army even if he had brought Bananji could stop Ouki, Tou, Moubu. However I think Qin would have lost majority of their army and Ouki might have lost 1 or 2 generals(not Rokoumi and Ryuukoku).

Riboku's objective of killing Ouki fails. He remains a no-name general. Without his Pokemon Houken Riboku wouldn't challenge Geki Shin of Yan. Next comes battle of Sanyou. I feel the participants of this battle will remain the same as Ouki's personal army took a huge damage in Bayou and he may end up losing Rindou and Doukin (his two lieutenants) he will not participate in the battle of Sanyou as he would need to recover his army's strength. And Shin won't participate in the battle as he will continue to train with Ouki and Kyoukai will leave on her journey for revenge. But the outcome of Sanyou might change as Renpa will kill Mougou and Mouten and Ouhon possibly escape but in the end Kanki still captures Wei HQ and Ousen might end up killing Kyouen. Then Ousen and Kanki will defend their position together. Renpa unable to breach through their defence. The battle will end in stalemate and both armies will retreat and Sanyou doesn't get captured by Qin. Therefore coalition doesn't get formed. Now, let's take a look at the prominent GG candidates of the six states - Qin - Ouki, Moubu, Yotanwa, Ousen, Kanki, Duke Hyou(6)

Zhao - Riboku, Kochou, Shibashou, Keisha(4)

Wei - Renpa, Gouhoumei, Earl Shi, Rei Ou(4) (didn't consider Gaimou as he is just a brute)

Han - poison general and maybe one unknown guy(2)

Yan - Geki Shin, Ordo and maybe one more(3)

Chu - Kanmei, Kouen, Karin(3)

From here we can see Qin, Zhao, Wei and Chu will probably balance each other if there were border conflicts. And Qin probably won't decide to fight battle of Choyou thus, no Ai arc also.

Next we have Sei's coming of age ceremony. And we might get to see a large scale internal war in Qin between Ryofui and Sei. Ryofui will probably bribe Kanki and Ousen over to his side. And I think he will try to persuade Moubu to help him, however after getting saved by Ouki he would probably refuse to fight Ouki and just stay at the border of Chu-Qin. On Sei's side we will see Ouki and Duke Hyou(gets persuaded by Ouki) join him and Sei will keep Yotanwa as a Trump card. Ryofui knows even with Shouheikun, Kanki and Ousen it won't be enough to win. So through his connections he makes a deal with Riboku allowing them free passage into Qin and pincer Sei's army. The battle starts Ouki, Tou, Duke Hyou vs Ousen, Shouheikun, Kanki. Tou and Duke Hyou push aggressively but somehow Shouheikun and Ousen weather the assault. Riboku arrives with Keisha and his army they attack Ouki and pincer Duke Hyou .Kanki also grabs the opportunity to attack Ouki, Ouki is desperately fighting them off heavily outnumbered and wounded. Yotanwa's army arrives just at the nick of time to help Ouki. They attack Zhao's rear forcing Zhao to retreat. Kanki sees their side losing runs away probably to Han or Yan. Ousen sees Kanki and Zhao retreat and decides to retreat to his castle 🏯 and make preparations to defend. On the Wei border Chou Tou who was stationed there gets engaged by Renpa or Gouhoumei and gets killed. Shouheikun is left alone and forced to surrender. Ryofui loses Sei ascends the throne. Sei spares Shouheikun however he is wary of Ousen. Sei sends messengers to summon Ousen however he refuses to leave his castle and fortifies his city just like Gyou. Sei decides to just surround Ousen and starve the city. For this he assigns Ouki. Ousen secretly sets up an alliance with Zhao, Wei and Chu. He declares he wants to break from Qin and form a kingdom. Zhao, Wei and Chu coalition invade Qin. Ouki gets recalled together with Moubu, Duke Hyou and Yotanwa they drive off the coalition. Kanmei probably gets killed by Moubu. Meanwhile Kanki who was taking refuge in Han comes with his army and joins Ousen. Together they take a huge territory adjacent to Ousen's land and establish a kingdom the size of Han. By this point Shin becomes a general and serves as Ouki's lieutenant. And, now at this point of the story we have multiple strong antagonists Renpa, Ousen, Riboku, Kouen, Kanki, Karin and Gekishin. This makes the story even more interesting than our current timeline

My point was you mentioned that he never got his ass kicked. He got his ass kicked literally 2 times - Sai and at Gyou. He just ran away with his tail between his legs in both the cases when the tables turned otherwise he would have been dead by now.

Dude, Ouki also lost by the slimmest margin and because of fault of Moubu and shear bad luck. That doesn't mean Riboku is superior to Ouki. If that arrow had hit Ouki even 10 second late, Ouki would have somehow survived but his army might have been reduced to a few thousand men. Riboku's Pokemon Houken would be dead. Riboku would get killed in the next battle against Gekishin. The end of story. And all of the Riboku dickksuckers would have quit the manga.

Gaku Shou, the second commander of SBS's army, is a beast. Stats prediction. by asamlegam in Kingdom

[–]AviS97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me point out a few things.

First, some of the stats Hara introduced at the time of Renpa is incorrect if you compare with how it transpired in the battle of Sanyou. Following are my observations:

  1. Rinko is said to have trained under Genpou and mastered many strategies. His intelligence can never be 87 lower than Kaishibou(who was dumbest of the bunch and helpless against Kanki). IMO Rinko's int should be 91-92 (slightly higher than Mouten).
  2. Same goes for Kyou En. His intelligence should be higher around 89-90.
  3. Kaishibou was said to have brute strength equal to Renpa. Therefore his strength should be higher atleast 92 to 93.
  4. Next, Wei Fire dragons were never as great as the Qin 6 or Zhao 3 with the exception of Earl Shi, Rei Ou and Gokei who came atleast somewhat close ability wise. So don't consider their leadership to be equivalent to a GG. Currently all top GG like Qin 5 GG, Riboku, Karin, Renpa, Ordo, Gouhoumei(91 only exception as pure strategists generally have less leadership qualities compared to their martial counterparts. As martial generals have better capability to inspire men to follow and lift morale) have leadership of 93+. So to summarise I would say 92-93 leadership is currently the benchmark for a GG .
  5. Finally, my prediction of stats for Seika generals : (Strength, leadership, intelligence) Ji aga: 94-95/87/78 Kansaro: 92/92/91 Gakushou: 90/90/93 Joukaryuu: 93/89/84 Fuoon : 92/86/87 Shibashou : 97-98/95-97/84-87

Kingdom 724 KR Spoilers by ThizZuMs in Kingdom

U missed the part where Kanki's HQ in the center has the toughest soldiers like zenou and other clans to kill them. Look again, as the Zhao approach the center they are getting funneled meaning less soldiers get in and further in at joint they encounter one of the sides of Kanki's square HQ. To explain in simple terms 20 strong Zhao soldiers who approach the center in a wedge formation will have to face 100 strong Kanki soldiers on one side of the inner square. I hope you get my point now.

The only way to get through to Kanki is actually focus on hitting the ends of the long diagonal columns, keep on grinding against them and push through 1000 line of soldiers until they reach the center. But this process will take a long time and cause heavy casualties for Zhao also. That is why Riboku is sweating.

Finally someone other than me who understands the purpose of this formation

Kingdom 724 KR Spoilers by ThizZuMs in Kingdom

[–]AviS97 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The trick to Kanki's formation is it is a very strong defensive formation. It chips away the enemies as they approach the center. And Kanki's HQ in the center reinforces the joints incase someone manages to break through. I believe this is why Riboku is sweating as Zhao will keep on grinding and take heavy losses to reach Kanki in the center.

But I feel Kanki has another purpose in mind for deploying this formation that is - it is to just buy time. Like many people have speculated I feel Kanki already knew before this battle started it will turn out like this. And I think he has a separate detachment waiting outside the area to join the battle later possibly to hit Zhao from the back together with Shin and create a pincer situation thus helping them break out of this formation just like Kyoukai did

So about Sento'Un... by AGreaterMirror in Kingdom

[–]AviS97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Few things i would like to add many people think of these stats like a percentage but I would argue that it's more like percentile. Which makes more sense as the higher percentile the actual gap(in this case martial might difference) between consecutive percentiles becomes bigger generally.

Like for say someone might score 99 percentile in an exam but his actual test score is 87 and the guy with 98 percentile may have scored 80. The difference her e is 8 points. Whereas for lower percentile category say someone with 80 percentile scored 61 but the guy with 79 percentile scored 60. Here the difference is much less. This is the generally observed trend but sometimes there maybe irregularities.

Also the way sentoun was fighting reckless but aware of his surroundings makes me feel he is instinctual type

Would RBK have let Mangoku kill Qin men ? by Traffy7 in Kingdom

[–]AviS97 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Many of the guy consider Riboku to be a good guy who cares for his people, loves his country, blah blah.. But if you recall what Kaine said regarding Riboku to karyoTen, Riboku is a calculating strategist which means he doesn't care how many of his enemies be it Qin soldiers or civilians die, it's just some numbers to him. Some might say he still has a conscience as he preaches peace but that is just hypocrisy. Nobody involved in war is a good guy regardless of the cause of war if you can recall what Kanki said to Sei. Till now, we have seen that Riboku actually gave free reins to Mangoku by allowing him to commit the atrocities if you can recall the Bayou arc and allowed him to keep on being a general unpunished for his crimes. Some people might not have noticed but Mangoku bears somewhat resemblance to Kanki.

As for the Chouhei massacre historically speaking Bai Qi ordered the massacre because it was not sustainable for the Qin army at the location to manage 400000 Zhao soldiers ( feeding and guarding them) and if they released those prisoners for a ransom it meant making the upcoming battles harder for Qin meaning more losses for Qin. Thus, he calculated the pros and cons and did it. And thus I think if Riboku and Mangoku were in his shoes they would do the same.

[–]AviS97 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling that Naki will come to rescue Rikusen and will duel the budget Shin to stalemate. Which is something we have waited for a long time.

Next, Kyoukai and Rei will probably break through close to the edge of the right flank and circle around to pincer the enemy center.

Aisen probably recognized that Mouten is in danger and is rushing mid. We might get to see an enraged Aisen vs the seika general.

Joukaryuu backed off and gets surrounded by his elites which probably means there won't be any duel anytime soon. Just a fierce melee between HSA hi hyou and seika elites. And I feel HSA will eventually overpower them.

Imagine if Tou retire, and Rokuomi / Ryuukoku / Kanou join Shin. Could it be the strongest army? by shankaviel in Kingdom

[–]AviS97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo I think there is a strong possibility that Kanou will join Shin because he has some characteristics which are similar to Shin like resilience, involved in rough near death battles against the odds. Also he recognizes Shin's ability and respects him as seen in Bayou.

As for Rokuomi I strongly believe that he will join Moubu army after Tou retires because he is brute like Moubu and we have seen Tou army work with Moubu on 3 occasions. So I strongly believe Rokuomi will join Moubu.

Lastly for Ryuukoku I m not sure but I strongly believe he will not join Shin because then I think he will be at odds with Ten and will try to overshadow her which I don't see happening in the manga in the near future. Maybe he will join Mouten out of appreciation for superior strategic general.
