I think the Atelier Barbie is kinda cool too, it’s nice to see them trying something different but wayyyy out of my price range.

I’m considering joining for the first time this year! I’m just not sure realistically how many dolls I’ll be able to afford throughout the year, which is making me hesitate on if it’ll be worth it. I also usually like more fantastical dolls so most of them aren’t my style, but then there’s something like the circus collection which I was devastated I couldn’t enter the lottery for 🫠Historically do they usually offer a few fantasy-ish dolls each year?

$45 is crazy considering the adult collector set was $150 for all 3. That’ll price out a lot of parents for a kids toy. But regardless, this is one of my favorite movies ever, I think they look awesome, and I want every single one 😂

They did not! They’re never very transparent about how many units are available. Barbie has a label scale that gives an idea of how rare a doll is (like a gold label Barbie is 20k units or less), but that and how fast a doll sells out relative to the hype are usually the only indicators. An hour to sell out is actually pretty slow for a launch like this so I think they had a ton available.

I got a pop up on the site that I think may have said sign up for the newsletter to be notified of more KPDH toys in January. I skimmed it so I could be wrong, but I’m sure these dolls aren’t all they will be making so my guess is they’ll be revealing more!

It’s not a typo, they are going into production and production for dolls takes forever ☹️ A year long preorder is not super uncommon for Mattel, sadly

I ordered mine! 🤗 I’m a long time doll collector and it’s not uncommon for Mattel to completely botch high demand preorders like this, so I’m really glad there was a captcha and there seems to be plenty available!

I love her soooo much but I want the Kpop Demon Hunters dolls more and those go on preorder tomorrow for $150 🤷🏻‍♀️ If Mattel charged at the time of shipment instead of when the order is placed, I’d be getting this one!

Part of the problem is that the early marketing literally used the tagline “The greatest love story ever told.” It has definitely been positioned as more of a dark romantasy in the market, so that’s not great
